The National Cathedral is not on the top of most lists, but it is an amazing tour. The architecture and history were worth the time.

We spent most of the month of May there this year. If you would like to check out my travel blog and pictures, go to

We loved it. Riding the Metro and going all around DC were great fun. The park staff goes out of their way to make sure you get to see it all.

Yup grocery only about mile away. We were there for a month in 2006 in April. Forget about driving into DC take the bus and the metro. No matter what you take in you won't have enough time. On a lark we took the Grey Line night tour of DC. Picked upin the CG and delivered us back at about 11. The mall and all the sites and monuments look a lot different at night. You won't regret it.

When I have toured DC it has been mostly in February. At that time of the year we had to do some of our sightseein in the dark. In my opinon some of the monuments were even better at night, especially the Lincon Memorial, Vietnam and Korean War Memorials. Don't let nightfall stop you.

I agree...Monuments at Night tour, done through Cherry Hill (for convenience sake) is great! Also, the preferred sites at Cherry Hill are worth the extra bucks.
