Well tried my honeywell this weekend worked really good, noise was not that bad at full out running my AC. But i did have to use the microwave to get the ac started, after that ran it for almost an hour untill i ran out of gas, pretty happy with it for the price.

NO, it is only a throttle stop position for the low load / no load efficiency mode,
by turning it clockwise a little you raise the no low idle position so it might not hunt so much
another thing is to run it a few more hours 30 ? and break it in, the book has a 25 hr break in period for the first oil change, most engines need some hrs of run time to break them in before they run their best.
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

I work for Honeywell tracking satellites, I went to our company web site and can get the 2000 for $436 delivered and no tax. Can't find it anywhere here in colorado for less then $600 so thinking real hard about buying it.
We only have a 16 foot camper and it would be nice somtimes to have the AC or mircowave but not at the same time. Shuold I or not?????

well i've been happy, and my (1) experience with CS, went very well.
what size is the A/C and what altitude will you be camping at
2000w might not be enough, if you camp at 8000 ft, the de-rating from thinner air will reduce output power

So far i am really happy with mine. Once it ran my AC i was very happy, Calgary's elevation is 3438 feet aboce sea level. Had to trick it with the microwave to kick in but after that ran great. I now have 2 really good working ones a full parts generator, my buddy has one and really likes it and we just got 4 more to play with. $436 is a pretty good price.

I recently purchased a new Honeywell generator for my TH. The TH has an Onan 5k in it already; I was hoping to use the Honeywell as a way to keep the hours down on the Onan. So far, the Honeywell is descent for the money but is still pretty loud. I read through all 15 pages of this post and the noise factor seems to be a consistent topic. Has anyone pulled this apart and tried putting dynamat or foam of some sort to help quiet it down? I was gonna try to do this to my unit but wanted to see if anyone had experience and if it made much difference

thought about it, have not tried it. all i did was but a little weather striping foam around the edges of the access door, to stop the buzzing rattle

Does anyone else have a metallic rattling noise (high pitched) coming from theirs?
Mine has had one since hour zero and I can't narrow down what's causing it. It's not even noticable from some angles but at other angles (facing the exhaust side) it's a slight "pinging" that can be maddening after a while.
Ours is outside puttering away as I type this - we're boondocking for the weekend. Still pleased overall (It's a heck of a lot quieter then my old Champion) but the pinging noise is getting to me.

might be a loose bolt/machine screw vibrating around on top or behind the exhaust system, wouldn't be the first piece of machinery that came from the store with something loose.
