Haven't been to either, but I know Artillery Ridge gets some good reviews. The biggest advantage of it, IMO, is that the horseback tours leave from there.

We camped at the Gettysburg KOA & enjoyed it, but if you want to be closer to the visitor center & the horse tours, stick with Artillery Ridge.

We stayed at Old Mill Stream, a few weeks ago, and really enjoyed our stay.

The Amish pastries were delicious.

In Gettysburg we stay at Drummer Boy. Never stayed at artillery ridge. Gettysburg has several campgrounds, all of them are nice.
I stayed at Old Mill stream several times. Very nice and quite campground. An amish man comes around each day with a horse drawn wagon full of just made pastries, pies, breads, cookies, etc..
Very popular with out of state visitors. Old mill stream is close to many attractions, but still quite and relaxing. You can take day trips from there very easily. If you need more info, just ask. I live in Lancaster.

Drummer Boy is runs parallel with Rt15, so it could be noisy.

We stayed at Artillery ridge last fall, nice CG, right across the street from the Battlefield. Sites are gravel, mostly level, but kind of small. We were on the end, in site 66, so our site looked huge. They are also Passport America, and Good Sam, so you should be able to get a good discount if you belong. We would stay there again.

another vote for Old Mill, we stayed there a few weeks ago also and really enjoyed it. Its location puts you right in the middle of everything Lancaster has to offer.

We have reservations for Old Mill Stream next week. We're going to do Dutch Wonderland with the kids for one day, than another day just to poke around Lancaster. Are the markets open during mid-week?

We just returned today from staying first for 4 days at Artillery Ridge in Gettysburg and then for 3 more days at Country Acres in Lancaster. Both were great. We are going back to the area for 4 more days starting on the 10th and couldn't get into either one of those Campgrounds. They are all booked so we're staying at the KOA in Elizabethtown.
