While in Gettysburg be sure to visit the new tourist center and view the movie and also take the trip to the Eisenhower Farm. While in Lancaster be sure to take a buggy ride and have either breakfast, lunch or dinner at Shady Maple Smorgasbord. You will never again find anything that compares to Shady Maple.
We are currently camping at Country Haven in Lancaster for the holiday weekend. If you are looking for a clean, quiet, relaxing campground, you'll find it here! Prior to our stay here, we read many negative reviews, such as low water pressure, reduced electric service and poor internet.... THIS IS NOT THE CASE (electric service is great, internet is faster than home and plenty of water pressure for our liking)...this is a great place to camp! We are in a preferred site overlooking five miles of Lancaster County....absolutely beautiful. Yes, there are rules, but if you prefer camping around respectful campers, this is the place. Everyone is very friendly and relaxed. We will definitely return again.

While you are there, you might want to check out Beacon Hill Cg for next time. We just spent 9 days there and loved it. Adults only though. Plenty to do there. Herr's snacks, Longwood Gardens, four playsChristmas museum, canning, Cloister tour. I would skip the pretzel tour in Lititz. Cost $3.00 and tour lasted about 10 minutes.Disappointed in that. Green Dragon and quilt museum.
We are at Flory's Cottages and Camping in Ronks, right next to Lancaster....it is an extremely well kept campground, family owned and operated. Only one pull through site however, and the big rig sites (back-in) are gravel and cut to 10 feet....the good news is the roads (also gravel) are wide enough to make backing in no problem (well almost no problem)
