It's been said "So long as I don't hang over my neighbors spot."

I consider my "Property line" as the imaginary line drawn from the power box, through the sewer hookup, to the road. Basically that's all I need, so long as the slides don't hang past that I feel it's good, and will park my TT as close as possible to maximize the remaining room on the pad.

How do you guys judge what is over the line, provided that it's not obvious.

I don't get lost, I investigate alternative destinations.

See a guy in the campground with a telescope, that may be me.

Y'all ought to come to one of our NW RV.net rallies 'cuz unless you're the first one in,the others grade you on your parking ability.. I used to get in late in the evening as I wuz working and sure enuff, they'd be waiting with the cards from 1-10.. Of course after the scoring, there would be someone standing there with the drink of the day for you..
Mebbee you should have walked over and given the woman a drink,or two,of the day and her old man a swift kick in the pants..

If I didn't hit anything and it's somewhere near level that's good enough. Had one trip where every time it was level I needed 3 ft. more hose and cord. Some times cornerwise will provide more evening shade or a better view.
Usually it is a joint decision of where and how to park. Then I point out what to watch out for. If I cannot see the hand signals I stop. Then DW realizes the problem and moves to where we can proceed.
I like to arrive early and leave late so I can watch the circuses set up and tear down.

In my experience it's better to have the little lady stand aside and watch, because if she had to help, I'd probably end up the same way! As for how my rig sits in it's spot, I'm some what anal about it, not to the point I would be screaming at the top of my lungs to get it that way (see above) but I do like it to be "straight" and in our spot with intruding on other people's site. One thing to keep in mind, though slides have been around for some time, more and more people have them and rigs are getting larger and larger and some spots are just tight to get into.

Precision parking is about not bumping into or falling off things, not orientation. I know my dimensions well enough that I can put the wheels less than an inch of where I want them and the front/back end within about 3 inches.

As long as it's in the site out of the road, I can access the compartments I need, get the awning out as necessary, the umbilicals (when necessary) reach, and I can get it reasonably level that's good enough.

Straight in the space? Ha! I was in a campsite that was excessively wide so I parked it about 70 degrees to the proper straight-in space. That changed the view out my windows from boring to spectacular. It was no where near properly aligned like good little campers are supposed to be. That's not the first or last time I've done things like that either.

I like mine to be somewhat straight with the site but not to the point I would draw a line... That said, I do the driving, the backing, the unhooking, etc..

When I get to the site, I take a walk through it with DW and point out roughly where I want the back end of the camper to be, the trees, the electric box, etc... From there, she has a two-way radio and basically tells me if I am getting too close to something (including anything I might have missed) and when to stop. Knowing I like to be close to straight, she will also tell me if I way off of that. Otherwise, her job is done and it never involves yelling by either party...

As long as we can hit the connections and get storage bays open were set up.
As for the guy leaving the light on. I would wait till about bed time. Go knock on his door and tell him to turn it off.

I made it back to the campsite about 1:00 am after work. Light still shining! Oh well. Had a hard time getting to sleep, I was pretty keyed-up from work, but finally reached the point where I crashed and burned and slept pretty good.

Woke up Sunday morning and first thing the wife said was, "You REALLY missed it last night when you were at work!" I said, "Missed what?" She said, "The couple next door! They got into a real wailing screaming match with each other. I thought they were going to kill each other!" I asked her if the camp host intervened in the situation and she said she never saw the host. I asked her how it came out and she said she didn't know. They both finally went inside and that was it!

We pack-up and got out of there early Sunday morning! We had to get home early anyway! There was no sign of life at that trailer when we left! (I hope they were still alive and just sleeping!) At least WE got to LEAVE in peace!

Hey, thanks everyone for the replies! I'm with the crowd that parks it any which way as long as it's somewhat level and I haven't hit anything, I call it a "success!"
