There are a number of abandoned WWII sites along CA62, among them is Rice Army Airfield. If you go to Google maps, click satellite, and search for it you get a great airial view of it. Has anyone boondocked and poked around in that area? There is another site east and adjacent to the air field, it looks like it was the actual base itself. This is where Patton trained his troops prior to heading for North Africa as I understand it.
