I have an 89 Fleetwood Pace Arrow. Ford 460 gas with 4 barrel and 3 speed auto. I have 4 questions:
1) The fridge is leaking the ammonia gas. I keep it closed and all is ok no smell. I now want to remove it. How do I do it without killing myself? Does anyone know how the dealer would do it?
2) Tires say max 110psi. Sticker inside says max 70psi. Should I go by the inside sticker or the tires?
3) I need 4 dash board style switches. I want the same look so they match the stock ones. Does anyone know where I can get them from?
4) The manual calls for Type H tranny fluid. I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know where to get it from?
Thank-You

1) 6 or 8 screws around the frame of the fridge where it fastens into the cabinet. Remove access door from outside and get the gas connection, the electrical connection, and two more screws in the bottom. Pull out into the interior. Turn off propane first.
2) sticker
3) You may get close, west marine, waytek, mcmaster carr, is there a name on the back of the switch or panel?
4) Never heard of type H. Found this on the web:
Type H -- Another limited Ford spec that differs from both Dexron and Type F. Can be replaced with Mercon or Mercon V.
Weird thing is that Dexron/Mercon are usually compatible.

2. I suspect that running 70 psi will reduce the load carrying capacity of your tires. Find a tire chart for yours and see where you stand.

How do I avoid the ammonia that is in the fridge? I need to open the doors to get at the screws.
I didn't look at the back of the switches. I'll look and take a picture.
I thought the sticker. Thank-You
Tranny Fluid: Even the Castrol and Pennzoil tech helps are not sure. They heavy duty Ford dealer here told me good luck in finding it.

I would go with the inside sticker, unless you've added more weight, like a Harley on the back bumper. I carry 65lbs (cold) in my 8R19.5 tires, I have 80,000 miles on them, the tread has many miles to go. I recently installed air pressure monitors, I also check the tire temp with a hand held infrared device, they check out below 150 deg. even on the hottest day (105) I don't carry a spare, if I need to remove one of the duals, I will air up the remaining tire to max pressure, and drive on to the nearest tire shop.

I use Castrol part # 12061 for use in older Ford and GM vehicles, I bought it at AutoZone.

The only way to get rid of the ammonia smell is a new fridge or a new cooling unit.

What size are the tires? 70 PSI sure seems low to me for a tire with a 110 PSI max.

I have a 89 Coachman, 460 engine, 3 speed transmission which is a c-6 Ford transmission. My book says to use Motorcraft Mercon transmission fluid.
You should be able to find it about any place and it should work fine.

When in doubt use Mobil 1 or B&M TrickShift.
Just to add to your frustration, if you look on the wheel, I'll bet it is listed as no more than 90 lbs. Ford is great at that. 70 sounds a little low for a tire rated @ 110. Maybe start around 80-85 and see how it feels and where the temperature is. Best way would be to weigh it front & rear and set the tires to the load.
