After reading in RV Net the various forums which has helped by giving me ideas on upgrades and toys to buy etc. I decided to do a more thorough pre-trip inspection after reading the previously titled post. And too my amazement this is what I found on my trailer.

I would have never thought that I would have trailer damage like this. We are suppose to depart for a weekend camping trip this Friday. I dropped the trailer off at a local welding / fabrication shop this morning. So we'll see what the damage will be. I had him check all the hangers on the three axles.

Should be a straight forward fix, a little welding and some gusseting.

Wow! Nice catch. Did you read some of the archived posts on these spring hanger/frame area failures? Skyline Rampage Frame Failure
I'd see about boxing the hangers and maybe even putting in the 2" spacer so the hangers are not welded directly onto the frame flange.

Glad you found the problem before it was any worse. I've learned alot from this site also. I have a WW FK1900. It wasn't used very much before I got it & I haven't used it much either. As a precaution I beefed up the tongue (A-frame) & boxed in the spring hangers on mine earlier this week. I used 1/8"x 2" x 4" plates on the hangers. I think i will have to keep an eye on the frame area.
Good luck on your repair.

I had a local welding repair shop fix up the welds and they reinforced the beam along the three axles. I'm working with Fred Placka of Sklyine now on a reimbursement settlement. Will let you know what they say.

My leaf spring clip broke too. $300 bucks, welder fixed it on the side of the road on a rainy Saturday night. (Actually he tried to do it for free and I insisted he take the check from me and give it to his church if he really didn't want it).

All in all, if it can be held back in place without significant bending, it can be welded back and reinforced for less money than the hassle to fight it.
