What is the longest trip you have gone on and how long did you spend making plans for it? Not ready to full time yet but I do retire in 16 days (yes, someone is counting and I know who). We're thinking about taking month long or maybe longer trips. If you do full time, how long do you stay in one place? I'm very excited! All those days and nights we've dreamed about what we will do and such and now it's here and OH MY...the longest trip we've done has been 10 days and 2 of those were spent waiting for parts at a Camping World site.
Looking forward to your stories...thanks

There's no place like home; that's why we take ours with us

Enjoy your day!

Have mostly only done extended weekends myself, but look forward to longer trips after I get a newer MH. Good luck to you and enjoy!

Our first trip was 7700 miles and took about 7 weeks. Went West to Grand Canyom, Yellowstone, Sedonia, Zion, Bryce, Rushmore, etc. The big Western loop from Florida. Out , up ,around and back. Didn't do much plannimg other than reservations at Grand Canyon and Yellowstone. Beautiful sights. You should spend at least two weeks at Yellowstone.

Our longest trip in duration is one we just came back from, 4 1/2 weeks, about 4000 miles. Did a 5000-mile trip last summer in 4 weeks. I'm a planner from the word go, so most of our CGs were booked ahead of time - in most cases, 2-3 months in advance, but a little longer for a CG near Yellowstone (just after 4th of July).

Lots of other planning involved too: making sure the cats were cared for (we leave them home), mail would be held at the P.O., bills all paid ahead of time or on autopayment through the bank, etc. That took a lot more time & energy to arrange than the camping res's and route planning!

6K+ three years ago. AZ up through midwest to MI, into Ontaria and back down into Niagra Falls. Across the top tier to NH and ME. Then down the east coast to DC, VA and back across the south through the bible belt. Gone one month with a one week stay in NH. Took the MIL along too!

Longest trip was from Virginia to CA, and up into Alaska and then back down to Southern CA. Trip took seven months and about two weeks in planning. It was a go, going, gone! Still don't know the miles.

Into Mexico to Melaque (north of Manzanillo), up to Texas, to Quebec (via Illinois)and west, back home to British Columbia. Nine days short of 6 months. that was about 17,000 kilometers, or 11,000 miles.
