Regarding the new Monaco being created under Navistar, has anyone heard whether they will be producing the same coaches/floorplans (maybe with some being eliminated)?
I have seen some discussion regarding changing the chassis, but nothing about what products will be offered.

Currently they are custom producing on order only. They are supposedly putting together their brand lines and floor plans for the future and will have a news conference in a couple of months with all that information.

They are concentrating on the parts end/tech supportend being brought back up and they have reopened a customer paid service center in Coburg, OR (hopefully they will open one more east).....there is still a hefty supply of new all over the country with dealer floor plan/bank repos added to the mix. They also are trying to establish an entire new dealer network. So I think building units/models/etc is still on the drawing board. Please feel free to PM me if you need more information.

My understanding is that the new Monaco RV LLC (fka/ Monaco Coach Corporation) is currently doing 'finish' work on units that were in the production line at the time of the shutdown; they are also scheduling in the custom ordered units that dealers have made.
The chassis will be on a Navistar and the engines will be the Navistar MaxxForce diesel. (although, sources in Coburg say that they will finish out the Roadmaster chassis and Cummins engines that they have in their inventory as soon as possible in order to do a complete changeover.
I am sure that there will be more on this in the weeks ahead as Navistar/Monaco RV LLC moves forward.
My biggest surprise is that, a) Kay Toolson is still there at the helm as CEO of Monaco RV, and along with a number of the other failed executives who managed to mismanage Monaco Coach into bankruptcy. The old saying "if you like what your getting, then just keep on doing what you are doing" seems to apply here. Why in the world does Navistar want to use the old, tired, worn-out, and failed management of Monaco Coach? There are a good number of very knowledgeable and capable managers around that certainly could do a better job than that done by the old Monaco Coach gang of thieves.
Toolson along with several of the other exec's at Monaco Coach are the ones who agreed to structure a deal for Navistar that would not include the liabilities such as the warranties on all their product. This tells one a lot about the people who are there and that it is strictly a "whats in it for me" approach by Toolson and his band of cronies.
Very disappointing to say the the least.
We will all see how this flushes out once the dust settles, but right now for the Monaco customer it does not look real promising.

I don't see Monaco/Navistar getting rid of the Roadmaster chassis any time soon as they build it themselves, and it is a proven commodity for motorhomes. I assume they will at some point put their own engines in though. When was the last time you heard a conversation about the best diesels that included Navistar? Cummins,Cat, Mercedes yes, but Navistar?
Keeping Toolson and some of the other top managers from the old Monaco is like having one hour overlap for the maintenance staff at a manufacturing facility. Keeps the lines of communication open from the old to the new. I doubt if Toolson will be left free to make any major decisions on his own. You can also bet that if Navistar sees fit they will send him packing. It has been my experience that high level managers like to keep several options open until either they feel confident in selecting one or cost forces them to select one.

As far as the Holiday Rambler line up goes here is what is planed- Diesels: Navigator, Imperial, Endeavor, Neptune, Gas: Arista, Admiral, Augusta, Towable: Presidential, Savoy, Campmaster, Alumascape and Mintaro.
They will offer just the top selling floorplans
Navistar owns all the brand plates and can bring any back if the market calls for it.
Diesels Built in Coburg Or. will be on Roadmaster Chassis/Cummins engines/Allison trans. Roadmasters chassis are built in their Roadmaster Chassis plant which is on the Monaco campus in Coburg (very nice plant by the way and and it was not part of CCP that filed CH 7) I suppose Navistar engines certainatly could happen someday but would require lot's of engineering changes that would be costly and would require a stronger market to support the change.
Gas and Towable built in Northern Indiana plants and eventually moved to Wakarusa. Workhorse chassis will come out of Union City and they will use some Fords as well. Dealers that have a signed dealer agreement can now place orders or try to make something work that is now on line.
