I have a cheap one, I use it, I hate it. Is it necessary? Anyone ever have a water line blow inside your RV? Did you have a regulator at the time.

Years ago I had a pop-up camper and dad several connection blown by high water pressure. The campground manager said the pressure would get up tp 90psi sometimes. I have used a regulator ever since. I recently purchased this one from HD in the sprinkler section. Regulator

I was just in a camp ground that had warnings notices posted all over the office that the water pressure was 60 lbs plus and to use a regulator.

1. Yes
2. No, because I use a regulator. We camped next to a couple in a very nice MH in a Nashville CG a couple of years ago. They were not using a water regulator and also failed to turn off the water supply to the MH while they were away for the day. When they returned in the late afternoon, they discovered a water line under the kitchen sink had split under pressure. It was a sorry mess.

Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

We stayed in a CG recently that had a sign at registration warning to use pressure regulator. Next morning you could tell by the cursing and shouting who didn't use a regulator. Saw several trailers with water pouring down their steps. Lots of broken pipes. It is your rig, so you can do as you wish, but WE are not hooking up without one.

Why do you hate the regulator? If shower pressure is too low, did you remove the stupid government mandated flow restrictor yet? Is pressure ok using water pump? What is the problem, maybe we can help?

I have encountered pressure up to 90 PSI ... IMO you need one ...
You need to look at the flow rate (GPM) because cheap ones have limited flow rates.

I recommend Watts 263A 4-4.5 GPM

Right on... GPM is the key... get a watts adjustable pressure regulator.. it's flow rate is much higher than the fixed rate ones... Home Depo.. Lowes

Yep flow rate is too low. Like I said it is cheap, and I have considered leaving it out of the line, I never have and now you have all convinced me to upgrade. Thanks for the input.

I've got the N55GP from the same site. World of difference.

one thing is the cheap ones are just that cheap stuff and they don't work worth a hoot. I have seen white hose swell up like a snake that just ate a small deer.. It can and does happen. I just don't want to clean up the mess so I use a regulator.
