My wife or I would never do it, unless the campsite was vacant and no RV in it.

Unfortunately, this has been happening for as long as I have been camping (48 years) so I don't think it is a new issue.

I bet you'd be singing a different tune if people constantly strolled through your yard at your permanent home. BTW, it has nothing to do with "grumpy" but everything to do with common courtesy.

Tolerance is posting here asking opinions or saying "I'm sure you are a nice person, but we come here for solitude and to get away from it all. If it's not too much trouble, would you please walk around next time?" rather than "Get off my #$$^%&* campsite!!!"
What is funny about alot of these people is, that they won't walk through if your outside, but if you are inside or away from your site (especially if your car is gone) think nothing of taking a shortcut. And if you question them about it your the "bad guy"
Is it "rude"?
Yes, I think so, and I try my best to avoid doing it, even if it means I have to make a few more steps.
But then, we all need excercise, anyway, don't we?
I don't get it! What is it that people don't understand about rental agreements. It's yours for the term specified and it doesn't come with a rider saying "but if someone should wish to take a shortcut through your site please consider this agreement null and void". I've never had folks from one of the "inside" rooms at a motel simply strole through my outside room on their way to the parking lot or pool. Why is this so hard to understand? It's rude behaviour in the extreme. Now, if I'm on the site between some elderly person using a walker and the public washroom, they'd probably get an invite to cut through, but at my discretion. Kids or others, camping's about enjoying the outdoors and the exercise etc., walk a bit further to work of the twinkies and soda pops! Enough already.
Today is just the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!

Agreed. I really could not care less. Anybody can cross my campsite. If I wanted complete privacy, I would not be in a Public campground. But then, I have nothing to hide from the public.
Sounds like some people need to pull up their big girl panties and get over it. JMHO.

I live on 500 acres, so my idea of space is very different from someone who say, lives in a city- where people are almost everywhere. But camping is different, and in general, is a great equalizer. There, I see both urban dwellers and country folk wanting the same thing: their space. Go around and give em' a nod hello.
