Well, just back from my maiden voyage in my Open Range and it was GREAT!
Just want to say thanks to Luvpitts who posted alot of info on this forum regarding hers! I had exact same issue with shower not being properly caulked, but since I knew to look for it, I brought some! The landing gear is super-sensitive and if taken too far, blows the fuse which I have now blown 3 but bought a large pack of 30s and knew right where to go to change it. And knew what the problem was...
The day before we left, I had a cable to one of the slides fray. Initially I was very concerned and thought it would cause me to have to cancel my weekend, but my BF was able to get up, inspect and determine that 3 of the 7 cables were intact. He cut the frayed portions, watched the video on the BAL accuslide website on how to change the cable and put a small piece of electrical tape to hold the ends. We are currently waiting for the cable replacement kit to arrive. I was slightly POd at my dealership because it took multiple calls to get them to respond so that Open Range could drop ship the cable directly to me. I'll have to call Monday to find out where it is cause I still haven't received it.
Even more exciting, I did all the driving to and from the campground. I parked this monster (even though it was a pull through site) and didn't have any incidents! It really pulls nicely.
We shot back through the scales on the way back because we bought a ton of stuff at the Camping World, Walmart and Kroger. I also had my daughter for the ride back. I emptied the fresh water holding tank though so it was about a wash...Total increase in weight for entire rig 100 pounds. Not bad!
if your cable is not in align with all pulleys it will fray ,i also had that happen on mine. i just called directly to factory and they shipped to dealer for them to replace. i was out my own state when mine went.was told slide will go in with 2 two cables gone .
