Ours is always out, even in the forest. It gives us a bit more security for our little dogs against the hawks flying above.

Unless too windy, awning is out for shade.
Plus, like beartruck, we're usually at a bluegrass festival for camping.
We bring jammin' chairs and host jams under it.

We always use the awning. Why wouldn't you? That is what it's for.. Keeps the patio area much cleaner and just doesn't feel or look like you're setup without it. Mine's electric, so it's very easy to use. Have to have it out for the rope lite also!!

We use ours much more since I upgraded our manual Carefree to a Eclipse electric arm set that can be angled. I added the Carefree Sun Screen and it rolls up with the awning. Its nice for the late afternoon sun and some degree of privacy.

We have used our awning on each outing so far. Not hard to deploy or roll up at all. We like to park our chairs under the awning and relax there.

Unless it's windy or winter time I have ours out. It's electric and easy to put in and out. I love sitting under it in the rain with a drink (if it's not too windy), keeps it cooler and provides an escape from the sun for the dog.
I won't use it / retract it on very windy days or when we camp in the winter when the sun feels good - well, as much of a winter as we get in TN anyway

Ours is manuel but it is easy to extend and retract so I use it most of the time...exception if we are having heavy wind. DW has Lupus and has to stay out of the sun so ours is out most of the daylight hours.

Down here in the South we have to contend with rainstorms and extreme amounts of dew. If you want to keep anything outside and it not get wet, you'll need your awning.
