My family and I are the proud owners of a 1992 Layton Skyline 2600a. We've really enjoyed it and we do a ton of camping. We've owned it for the past four years and averaged at least 45 nights a year in it.

Needless to say the advanced age and use have caught up to it in several small ways so I've spent several days this summer giving it some TLC. Pictured above is one of the items I would like to address but I'm not sure how to tackle it. I'm not even quite sure what to call them. Anyway these are the fender flairs/wheel skirts on my trailer and as you can see, they have developed some cracks. I took a picture of a prominent crack. I would like to remove them, fill-in/repair the cracks, paint them with a plastic specific spray paint, along with the screws and then put them back on looking good as new. I'm not sure what to use to repair the cracks though.

Advice and thoughts would be well appreciated on how to fill and repair these cracks.

You could finish cutting the fender in half right at the crack, all the way down. This relives the stress and it shouldn't crack there again after the repair is completed. To reinforce the two pieces when repairing it, put a 1 1/2" piece of aluminum in the back side, and either pop rivet it in place or epoxy. Then repair the crack seam.

You might also put a strip of aluminum along the top edge where the screws run, painted white to keep the stress from recracking the ABS when you are done, as the top of the fender has a permanent "distortion" that has to be addressed to keep the cranks from reoccuring.

Good link on ABS repair-this is for sport bikes but applies to your fender.

Have you checked for replacements? Some where I have seen replacement fender skirts, Ebay? They might be easier and cheaper to replace. JMHO

If the removal and replacement is straightforward (from the photo it looks like it's just screws), I would go with new replacement fenders.
