Florida, lower property taxes, hurricanes...for now, I'll pay those stinking property taxes, in the end, it could be cheaper.

My TT is registered in Florida and come August, my 2008 Dodge truck will be also. About $80 more for insurance than NC which is a far cry from the $170.00 property tax. $40.00 for change over on truck as I already have my tag. Reason for August is because I will have owned it for more than six months so no sales tax will be due.

Man, I was thinking the same thing. Someone who can change the rules will read this and we will all be doomed.

I plan on calling the tax office next week to see if they will reduce my tax bill based on what I actually paid. Here in NC they tax on houses, cars, trucks, boats and as you can see rv's. Needless to say this was a shock in the wallet to get this bill.

Here is SC all you have to do is provide proof of what you paid and they will reduce the tax bill.

It drives me insane every February when I get my property tax bill for my car, every March for our truck tax bill, every July for our camper tax bill and every December for our tax bill on our house. I am insurance and tax poor.

We have not been damaged by a hurricane in like...forever. But there are those tornados, earthquakes, mud slides, wildfires. Uhh...Oh no... they don't come here either. But we have had a month and a half of rain. Temp today is 65 degrees. Sun comes out tomorrow.

Our property taxes are pretty high. But no sales or state income tax.

I could live with no sales tax.

In Montana there is no sales tax and I pay for my plates one time on the 5er and they are a permenant plate. As long as I own it I never have to renew. My Harley is the same way and the trailer that I haul the Harley on has a permenant plate also. But if they don't get you one way they will get your money another. So one way or another I pay for it also.

you need to contest that, especially since I am betting your insurance company will not pay you that much in event of total loss.
