Looks like it’s time to replace the rubber parts in my toilet. My Thetford Bravura is not holding water again and I have cleaned the seal with no luck this time. If I pull the shroud from around the pedal I can see one of the seals and it is pretty dry and cracked. It's time.
Has anyone done this? How difficult is it? Does anyone have any instructions I can pre-read to prepare myself?

I have not done that as of yet but it looks like you must replace the entire blade assembly. This requires lifting the toilet.
See item #4 HERE!.
Kit sells for $77 and comes with new flange seal.

We have had our rig almost 4 years and replaced the toilet seal in January for the second time. It's not that bad of a job; took about an hour or so. You do have to take the bowl off but you do not have to disturb the base. There is a flexable plastic shroud around the base and there is a drawband that keeps the base and the bowl joined. The new seal seems to be holding fine. On mine the seal looks like a small plate with a thin rubber donut in the middle. Sorry but I don't remember the brand of mine. Hope this helps. Big T

The blade assembly itself is OK on mine. This rebuild kit includes the rubber parts for the blade assembly also. I figure if for some reason this doesn’t fix it I can still buy the blade assembly and still have less invested than in a new toilet.

This response has been on the forum numerous times, so I appoligize if you have tried it and it did not work, but it is a free fix if it works. My toilet would not hold water until I accidently let my foot slip off the pedal. It snapped and has held water ever since (2 yrs.)
I occasionally forget and release the pedal slowly. When I do I notice the water will seep out over time, but if I press the pedal, hold it down about 5 sec., and let it snap closed, I am good to go for weeks.
Try it, it might work for you.

Then you know more than I do, why ask the question when you already have the answer?
Honestly, for $37 more you get the ENTIRE assembly, install one part and you are completely done with it.
$77 IS still cheaper than a new toilet, in fact I have a new Bravura sitting in a box in my TT, paid $158 plus $30 in shipping. Had to replace the Obsolete Galaxy model I have which I discovered has a crack at the top of the bowl. To much water pressure causes it to leak all over the floor.
Its your time to spend, I personally don't wish to spend any more time than needed hugging a toilet to repair it.

I just replaced the 31111 assembly on a toilet yesterday. You turn off the water, remove two nuts that hold the toilet to the floor and then take the whole toilet outside. You take 5 screws out and separate the bottom half of the toilet from the top. There are also three clip rings for the mechanism arms, plus one wate line ring clamp. Put the new 31111 assembly in place using one of the new seals provided and reassemble. The 31111 kit also comes with a new floor seal. Why try to rebuild the unit and take the chance that it still won't work?

A-1 Mobile RV Services Thanks for your instructions. This is what I was looking for. One of the reasons for rebuilding the mechanism rather than replacing it is because I am retired and have nothing better to do. The other reason is because I am retired and have no income so $40 looks better than $77.
