I just got the Nitto Dura Grapplers (Nitto's new towing tire) and I love them Quite on the road, good MPGs, ad they don't care if the trailer is back there. Air them down and they will get me on and off the beach with the trailer just fine. Not a serious offroad tire, but thats what the toys are for. The truck is to get us there. hehe Hope this helps. Oh yeah, Big Brand Tire got me out the door for $850. Heck of a deal.

The LTXs are useless in the grass, snow or mud. Gotten stuck with them a couple of times towing in places where it shouldn't have gotten stuck.
Bought some take-offs from a friend who upgraded, which came with some Goodyears that did well. Now, I've got the LTXs on my truck again (bought an 04 Dodge 2500 Cummins) and looking to replace them. A lot of friends have had good luck with the Nitto Terra Grapplers or the Toyo Open Country tires (both are pretty much the same tire with different sidewall dressing).

I have Toyo MT's (load range E) and they are wearing horribly. I doubt I'll get 20k miles out of them.
Not sure what I'll go with next.

Most MT tires wear pretty fast though. I've never seen one that lasted much more than 20k miles. The ATs seem to last much longer.

Using the Michelin LTX AT2 tire on our 4wd 2500HD Chevy. They have worked pretty well in very mixed conditions -snow, ice, rain, dry, and mud. We get a little bit of it all up here in the PNW. They don't look very aggressive but so far so good -grip and wear wise. They also ride very well with no noise.

I've had the Nitto Terra Grapplers and now the Dura Grapplers. Don't need the agressive tread of the Terras so the Duras seem to suit me well. Great load carrying capacity and the Dura's are wearing GREAT. I'm sure I'll buy them again. The tread pattern is open enough that they don't feel squirrely in the dirt towing or not but not so open that they wear quick or are noisy.
If you're primarily on road and 2WD like me I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Nitto Dura Grappler.
I looked at the Michelins but the high load range were stupid expensive, I can put two plus sets of Nittos on for that price.

I have had great experience with the Nitto Terra Grapler E rated tires. I am on my second set and no problems at all for me. I even air down to 15psi with my 5er to float in sand but normal run on 80 PSI. No blow-outs, no side wall issues. They will get chewed up a bit with chains and have a soft compound so expect 10-15k if you pull a lot. I went to these after having trouble with the Goodyear Silent Armor sidewall bubbles and blow-outs.
