Will a Chevrolet dealer do warranty work on a 6.0L PSD?

They couldnt repaire my C6 tranny why would you think the have the skills to do any kind of work on a Powerstroke?

Our 05 6.0 took a week for my head gasket when I went by & saw the cab off the truck was a eye opener. After they started working on my 05 F350 6.0 I could not keep it out of the shop. Only had to be towed in once. But we work on the road and I could not live wih a truck that keep going in the shop. So I go a one of the last 07 5.9 as I found it 10/07. I like my Dodge just not as much as my F350.
Now if I had it to do over I wish I would had done a Ford Cummins Conversion. Has anyone done a Cummins Conversion? http://www.fordcummins.com/ It looks like the best of both worlds. The Cummins is a real good hard working power plant that if you take care of it, it just does not go in the shop. As I loved my 05 F350 just could not live with the 6.0 going it the shop as we live & work on the road.
We go down the road with two trucks I drive the work truck & wife pulls our 5er. First year I drove a 02 FL80 I did not care for much, I would say it was above the GMC I now drive. I have driven a 05 F350 our truck, & a 98 3500 Dodge with 5 speed work truck. We now go down the road in a 05 3500 GMC D/A work truck, & a 07 5.9 auto our truck. I liked the 98 Dodge when I got in the seat it fit me like a glove but not much power as it could only do 45 mph on hills that the other 3 could take at 65 mph. Not far behind the F350 not the seat was flat but better than other two trucks & I really liked the rest of the truck & the 6.0 did have the most power when it was not in the shop. Next the 07 5.9 not as much power as Ford or GMC, I like it ok & it does have a little wind noise when it is windy, it has 30K+ & has not been in shop, well wind noise but did not help. Now the GMC, did you ever know someone you just did not like, that is how I feel about the GMC. It does not go in the shop much, it has almost 140K, well it has had a lot of elect problems. I just do not like much about it, do not like the seats, wind noise is real bad had in shop 8 times it got worse every time I took it in so I stopped, can't see much out of the elect. mirrors as they are a joke, can't get the transmission brake to kick in 2 shops says nothing wrong with it. All 4 are 2wd but GM jacks there truck up like a 4X4 wife is short & round and does not having to clime up to get in it. I am not down on GM, before we went on the road I had my dad's 88 2500 Chevy that I liked & my son-in-law is still driving it. I got it when my folks quit the road as I had a real piece of******89 ford pick up that I liked about as much as the GMC I am driving.
Any 6.4L PSD's on the lot? Seriously... Warranty work shouldn't reduce the value of the trade in at all. Be back on the road in a couple or three hours...

Well if you took your Ford C6 tranny to a Chevrolet shop why would you expect them to fix it? I doubt they would have the repair(e?) manuals, or the special tools......
......I didn't think of this until now.....Maybe we should have taken my old 6.0L PSD work truck to a Chevrolet shop. The Ford shop never could keep it running.

Good luck googling it since, you know, the 6.0 doesn't come with head studs.
It comes with torque-to-yield bolts which, along with not enough of them plus being only 180ksi bolts vs. 225ksi studs, is a problem in the 6.0.
But as someone said earlier, a lot of 6.0's were mis-diagnosed as head gasket problems when it was really EGR cooler failures.
And why does the EGR cooler fail? Because the oil cooler, which is in-line for coolant with the EGR cooler, gets plugged up from the casting debris in the coolant.
Install a $120 coolant filter in your 6.0 and you can just about kiss the great majority of problems away.

That's brilliant, thanks for the contribution.
I'll add another suggestion to make sure it's not an EGR issue. Did you blow any white smoke or have coolant loss?

Bottom line: if you have a 6.0 PSD, you need a coolant filter on that engine.

You mean the ARP 6.0L Ford Powerstroke Cylinder Head Stud Kit from Automotive Racing Products, Part number ARP250-4202 doesn't exist? Google 6.0 PSD head studs and see how many hits you get. Good luck.
