Have you ever had to tow a trailer with your SG without the capture plate for a very short distance?
The reason I ask this is because a friend of ours here at the campground asked me to move their fiver since some bone head almost backed their trailer almost in to their front door and wanted to move to another spot since her husband had the TV away from the campground.
I was only going to move it no more than 100ft with no 90 degree turns.
Thanks

No. I do know that you want to keep anyone with a standard hitch away from yours unless a special accessory sold by Pullrite is used. That is addressed in the manual. The dealership I purchased from did not have the accessory and had to wait until I moved the unit to have access to that part of their service area again.
I think I have read here that you can move a standard kingpin 5er for a short distance with the only problem being that it would not activate the slide feature. But, I do not want to give that advice. The manual may address that question also if you check there. My manual is with the 5er.
Plan for tomorrow. Live for today. Learn from yesterday.

Yeah I did read the manual and it said it may or will cause damage due to free fall or nothing to stop the hitch from slamming back. I was looking to see if anyone has tried it.
"Can I pull other 5th wheel trailers with my SuperGlide hitch?
Your SuperGlide hitch can only pull trailers equipped with the SuperGlide trailer plate. If you hook up to a trailer that does not have a trailer plate installed, there is nothing keeping the hitch in the forward towing position and the weight of the trailer will cause the head to turn and slam or “free fall” to the rear which can cause damage to the hitch and the king pin. We do not recommend locking the hitch in any way to keep it in the forward position.

PullRites are expensive, for that reason alone I wouldn't take the risk. Quote from PullRite-"Your SuperGlide hitch can only pull trailers equipped with the SuperGlide trailer plate."
There are posts here on rare occassions, that guys have done so and wedged wood blocks into the slide first. Abusing a PullRite like that should be a crime!

I would never risk damaging my Superglide muchless putting myself in an expensive liability situation should something happen to the other 5er. Surely you are not the only TV in the CG set up to pull 5th wheels.

Hey C.B. I take it that is not a factory part, but hey it gives me an idea. Dumb question does Pullrite approve of your mod?

I sent drawings, pictures and offered to send an extra one I have to PullRites head engineer.
He said no need he could make his own off the pictures and drawings I sent to him.
The thing that impressed him the most is I did not modify their product in any way.
PullRite will not manufacture and offer this slide stop adaptor for sale due to product liability issues.
For the same reason I do not make and sell them.
