OK, I guess I have to finish the story. Like Paul Harvey said, and now, the rest of the story. Here is a picture of Polly the Poodle at our campsite, She is the one on the right by the tree....

Pat, we could write a book on all the strange things that we seen while gobbling up the highway trying to make a living for our families! Rooster
Polly is close to what I saw! It was a big stuffed toy dog! Must have been the size of a St. Bernard. Sitting pretty as can be behind the steering wheel, studying the atlas that was on the steering wheel. No one else around.

Not exactly:
597.7. (a) No person shall leave or confine an animal in any unattended motor vehicle under conditions that endanger the health or well-being of an animal due to heat, cold, lack of adequate ventilation, or lack of food or water, or other circumstances that
could reasonably be expected to cause suffering, disability, or death to the animal.
Polly doesn't suffer from heat, cold, lack of ventilation, food, or water. She gets left outside in the rain and cold quite often, with hope that a good bath or freeze will kill the termites. She is out in the hot sun waving a flag for the Forth, and has a big smile on her face...
