We've come to the same camp ground for 4 years now on the 4th, and this year its the first time that its not full. 3 open reservable spots. Even tho I think this campground is the stain on the underpants of campgrounds, it's weird that it's not full.

Is your campground full? Spots left?

"Stain on the underpants"? Why go to a place like that

Maybe that would answer your own question.

Personally, I'm home with family, although I waxed RoadAbode today. Not in the mood to go out watching drunks stick firecrackers up their nose. (true story - luckily his wife came out to grab him before another drunk came by to take up his dare to light them)

The 4th itself - Patriotic home-town parade, a Church picnic with plenty of home-made goodies, and watch the kids fall over on the three-legged and sack races. Try and guess the weight of the watermelon too!

With only a 2 day weekend, we stayed home. Boss did give us a day off with pay, but not this weekend. I can't remember the last time we stayed home, but others comments are correct, too many loony tunes sometimes on the big weekends.

I left my favorite c/g yesterday morning. It had been empty most of the week, then came the crazies, fireworks, dogs howling, three units, (one RV and two tents), to a site, plus 3 cars. I am parked in my own drive until the lunacy passes.

The RV Park we are in is full. I made a reservation over a month ago and the only place available was in the group field. I had called several places within 50 miles of the area where we needed to be to meet some friends for a few days and this was all that was available. If home were closer I would be there on holidays.

We are in 1000trails near Lexington, NC and there are plenty of open spaces. People here don't talk to outsiders so no idea on why there are openings.
