Those signs are a good way to invite intruders into your RV. Bad guy comes up to your Rv and knocks on the door. He says, "Hey Bob (or whatever your name is that he gets from the sign) I didn't know you were here, too! Come on out and lets visit!" You automatically open the door believing it is someone you know, and the rest can be brutal.

To tell the truth. If i was that scared of people. I'd just stay home, behind locked, and bolted doors with a gun across my lap. This lifestyle may not be for you.

To anwser the original poster's question (albeit unspoken), "Smith's" with the apohstrophy before that last s means posessive. That is, the Smiths own this.

If you are saying the "Smiths" live here, you don't need the apohstroply.

Yes, I understand the difference (my mother was an English teacher ). I was just wondering which most people chose..what other's preferences were. DH likes one way, I prefer the other!

Since camping is informal,we just go with our first names, city and state. Never heard anyone at a campground address anyone as "Mr or Mrs".

I have never seen the need to put out a sign saying who I am or who we are. I don't have one at my stick house, do you? But if I felt the need for a sign, I don't think I would include our first names, just our last name. Just my opinion. I might consider a sign that I saw. "One cute chick and one old crow".

Just courious, why not a first name?

We have a sign and if it hadn't been there, an old friend's daughter wouldn't have stopped by to see if it really was us. As far as we're concerned, there's no problem in having our sign out so other frienldy campers can stop and visit.

I have an ad in the classifieds for signs. I will give advice about what others have had made and why.

Since the sign is about the occupants and not the RV, I vote for plural rather than possessive. Also because use of apostrophes in less-ambiguous situations (where the plural is definitely intended) is a pet peeve, so IMHO the fewer apostrophes, the better.
