This morning we picked up our 2003 Jayco Kiwi. Already put the Reflectix in the windows and under the mattresses. Will order PUGs on Monday. In the near future will put in the battery disconnect and a 2nd battery.

What other mods should I look into now.

Our Kiwi has snaps to attach the bunk vinyl to the frames. The guys we talked to at the dealer suggested using self-stick industrial velco and to forget the snaps. Has anybody done that?

My '08 Jayco 23B came with velcro from the factory. But, as long as the snaps still work, I would use them.

The snaps work. Some of them were just very difficult to unsnap.

Velcro holds to Velcro but is only as strong as the adhesive that is holding it to the surface. I turned down a purchase on a cub because the Velcro had come unattached from the bed base panels in spots and would not re-stick. It was too much of a concern for me. My Jayco 23B has snaps as well and I love them. They are strong and reliable.

Agreed about Velcro ... I've been thinking about putting in screws with washers to help the Velcro stay put.

One can buy stainless steel snap kits with the tool to mount the snaps at sporting good and camping stores like ‘Academy’. The base snap might have to be screwed or riveted in place, though. Not expensive at all.

Common boat store part. We're always breaking or tearing out snaps.

I'm always real careful when unsnapping and instruct anyone helping me to be careful.
