Hurricane IKE. Had fall trip (after Labor Day) planned to go to Black Hills and then Yellowstone. Delayed a few weeks because of IKE. Made the trip and then got caught in Oct snow storm in Tetons. It was a great trip.

Snow and ice. I retired April 1st, and planned to leave April 7th. 4" of snow made getting my TT from it's parking spot impossible, with my 2 wheel drive, slushy snow, and fairly steep driveway. Had a buddy with a heavy duty 4x4 move it for me the day before I was to leave. I hooked up and ready to leave first thing in the morning. Tried to back up to remove chocks, and found out TT tires were frozen into the slush, and ice under the TV. Had to pound the chocks out. A week later, I'm in Phoenix, and found out there had been a 5 foot snowstorm at home. Now, that would have really been a delay. Sitting by the swimming pool with my laptop, I Emailed my neighbor. Her response isn't printable here.

About two years ago, had a week planned to go north, I had a job booked into my shop that was a 4 day job, my guy decided that he needed the week off so I had to stay and do the work.

He no longer works for me.

Another trip we had a pulley on the serp belt decide to let go about 5 minutes into our trip, delaying the trip by one day.

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 08. She has battled for 9 months and won so far. It wasn't easy because of her other medical problems. We had some good trips planned for that time.

We are praying for you.

DW has been cancer free for 5 years now but it was a tough 2 years of surgeries and chemo. She is an amazing woman.

Good luck

Last summer 2008, we planned to go from CO to the Badlands. Right before we were to pull out of the driveway, my 11 yr old daughter had tingling of face and hands, then right sided facial droop, and then lost her power to speak. Ambulanced her to local hospital and then Children's. It was the worst experience of our lives. We thought she might be dying. Turned out to NOT be a stroke or brain tumor or seizure, but rather by a diagnosis of exclusion and many tests over the rest of the summer, a rare atypical kind of migraine (confusional migraine). However, in retrospect, I do believe we were being looked out after - it would have been SO much worse to be in the middle of the Badlands without ready access to medical care. She is doing great now, thank the Lord.

1. 05 Trailer started delaminating in 06. Trailer went back to the manufacture to have walls replaced. Took 4 months to get trailer back.
2. Two months later more bubbles and we had enough. Negotiated a buy back and took deliver of out current Trailer.
3. First year 5 months total in shop for "little" things like the ten made in China sheet rock screws that held the bottom of the front wall to the floor frame sheared off and the wall moved forward. Heater would not run due to improper duct installation, etc, etc.
4. Then the China made tire with 560 miles on it seperated the tread which acted like a pin wheel as it went around beating the stuffing out of the side wall and floor which happened to be the slide out. Another 3 months waiting for parts so trailer could be repaired.
5. All in All we have had to cancel 6 trips in last three years due to trailer being repaired.
