I have been using the Thetford Supreme Green chemical in my black tank along with rv TP. I have one of the clear valves that has a hose connection on so you can back rinse the tank. I have noticed that the chemincal does not totally dislove the TP. Should it? I don't have any smell issues just wondering if there is a chemical that will disolve completely.

Thanks in Advance

I also have a clear connection so that I can see what is coming out of my tank and we use different brands of chemicals in the tank. I have never seen the tp completely disolved when I dump. If I dump after we had been on the road for a while, the tp is slightly more disolved but there are still clumps.

The only chemical I use is H2o. It disolves TP as good as any other.
The chemical mfg. are the ones who promote use.

Eco friendly holding tank additives do NOT break down waste/paper.

And IMHO that's WHY so many people have problems using so-called eco friendly tank treatments.

Read the labels. This is the one I use.

Thetford Campa-Chem
Breaks down waste
100% biodegradable liquid
Keeps holding tanks clean

Simply put if the label does not state 'breaks down waste' it won't, and all you are doing is adding perfume. Find one that states on the label that it 'breaks down waste'.

Don't use chemicals and don't use RV TP .. been that way since 2002. Don't waste money on RV paper, any single ply will work, I use Scott

a black water tank is a holding tank. not a septic tank.

I don't use rv toilet paper either and never worry about which tank chemical to use, I just purchase the most economical available at Wallys. I use lots of water and flush/rinse my tanks everytime I dump.

We use about a half cup of
Dawn liquid along with a capfull of liquid Calgon.
TP from Costco (mainly because it is cheap)
No problems in over 3 years of fulltime traveling
Keep in mind that "RV" means "Really Valuable" Meaning costing a lot
