Anyway Dr. Turmail is such a wonderful asset to this message board. I really appreciate his wisdom and compassion. I hope everyone understands what a valuable addition to RV Pet Stop our resident vet is....

Thanks again.

I "Whole Heartedly" agree with your statement about Dr. Turmail. I don’t think we can thank him enough for being here with/for us in this Forum.

I'm so sorry to hear about Deuce. I remember the big laugh I got when you told the story of the Vet tech, who couldn't spell his name...I hope that you continue to rescue and love unwanted animals on the side of the road. Deuce would like that!

Dr. Doug rocks, and having him available is a great blessing to those of us here. Besides which he provides the perfect amount of moderation in our little corner of the world.

It occurred to me that Deuce with his two theme, came and stayed for... two months. Which of course was painfully short, but on the other hand, the theme was quite consistent.

I'm so sorry to hear about Deuce. Sometimes animals show up in our lives and touch us unlike others - its so sad when its so short. I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that you gave him a warm loving home for those 2 months.

Thanks everyone...I sure miss that little black & white fireball.
The experience was extremely difficult and I hope it is something I, & for that matter you, never have to face (again).

Once again, let me remind you to please get your pets spayed/neutered, it IS the right thing to do and odds are very much in our favor for a successful outcome.

Cat
was there possibly an underlying problem that no one detected and perhaps he was only going to live for a short time anyway? just a thought

Oh Cat I am so sorry to hear of this. I haven't been on here in awhile so I am sorry this is late. I too had a 6 month old pass while taking him to be neutered. He was a big bundle of energy and I was angry for a long time because I only had him such a short time. He lives forever in my heart as I know your little spitfire will too with you. You opened your heart and your home to him even though it was short. You gave him a chance to be loved and that is what matters the most.

Glad you posted the note about people not being afraid to get their pets fixed. I was scared to death with my next ones but they are all fine.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Cat! I hope you can take some comfort however, in the fact that this lost little kitty had 2 months of a full belly, warmth, love and affection - all because of you. Thank you for making the most of his short life.

Margie, there is always a possibility of an underlying medical condition, perhaps something neurological that isn't detected in the tests we typically perform on kittens. I had a blood panel and a fecal test done on him within the first few days of finding him, before I would allow him to be in contact with our other cats. He appeared to be a healthy cat according to those tests as well as his behavior, appetite, energy level, etc. But yes, there is a possibility of something undetected with Deuce, we will never know.

Thanks Missy, I know understand what it's like...
