I would say (21) years of service, you have answerd your own question! I would think a (1988)trailer would need help before another (21) year period! Youroo!!

LOL Yeah I don't expect this trailer to lat another 20 years, though with proper maintenance it should. But The plane it to in a couple years to find an old AirStream, gut it and put in a new interior the way I want it and use all my new apliances that I have already installed in this trailer. I already have replaced the Water Heater, Furnace, and Water Pump.

I would prefer norcold. With 21 yrs of service how could you go wrong? That is one reason I purchased the camper I have Norcold frige and colman a/c. In my past experience with dometic never seemed the fridge or a/c was ever quite cool enough or preforming up to expectation. My fathers old camper 87 or 89 model is dometic fridge caught fire, they was out and campground neighbors got in and put out fire. Was small got new fridge and cedar lined closet. Go with norcold. Dometic to me = garbage. My Rockwood and Starcraft Pop Ups both had Dometic appliances. The refrigerators never cooled correctly, and one even failed. The Starcrafts Dometic AC needed repair after a year. I love the Coleman AC that the Rockwood had and that the Jayco has (same AC). I really like the Norcold refigerator in the Jayco as it operates nearly as efficient as my home fridge.
Dometic is a brand I try to stay away from. Their 6.0CF fridges had a funky temp slide adjustment along with plenty of safety recalls.
Have a good one

I would lean toward a Norcold. I never had Dometic so I can't say either way. All my boats had Norcold and my TT has a Norcold, that is what I am most comfortable with.

Buy NORCOLD!!! Dometic SUCKS, and so does A&E and Duo Therm and every other brand the represent!!
Their customer service is lousy. If you even want to call it service.

I have had 3 campers with Dometic and 1 with Norcold. The Norcold
works way better. My next camper will have a Norcold or I wont buy it.
