Yes the Drifta kitchens are very nice, it's funny the owner of Drifta was a guide in the PNW before he moved to Australia.

It wouldn't be to hard to make a swing/slide out style like theirs, the trick is design it to "fit" your gear.

Hausfrau, Have you made any progress on building our own Tent Trailer?

Have you guys ever heard of a Phoenix Camper. It was, is plans you could buy from Popular Mechanics and it was built on a VW bus chassis. I bought the plans back in 1980-81 with big ideas of building one. Now that I am getting close to 60 I have no interest in trying to build it. Instead of building it on a VW I don't see why it couldn't be built on a trailer. Anyone interested in the plans give me a shout.
Cheers
Garyk
PS if you do a google search for "Phoenix Camper Popular Mechanics" there is still photos of it and you can still buy the plans or

Garyk, Yes the Phoenix was an interesting camper. There are a number of vintage tent trailers that use the same design of two wing beds.

Garyk, Do you still have a copy of the old Phoenix camper plans available? I'd be interested in getting them.

I have done a listing of Camper trailer builders in Australia for the owner of this website.Currently there are about 100 builders of Camper Trailer/Tent Campers in Australia. Some of these are sold in the US.
Camper Trailer Manufacturers in Australia
They vary from the onconventional: Track Trailer

To the conventional: Bushman Camper Trailers

It been a while, any new DIY / home-built Tent Trailer projects out there?
Been making some changes on mine. I tweaked the tent unit and rotated it 180 degrees. It much more stable climbing in on top of the trailer box.

Thanks for the Aussie trailer links, lots of good idea for planning a DIY tent trailer build
