MOD QUOTE: "Nope. As long as posters follow the forum rules......
Once folks start getting flamed for their opinions, it gets closed.
Pretty simple and straightforward, really."

For those that didn't read it, we were having some fun with truck stops and lessons about rest stop camping, and general off-the-wall rhetoric, and someone had to 'bash' another poster in it for no particular reason except 'history' and that poster had not even posted anything at the time - was just a "left-over dig", and the bash emerged -- and the MOD closed it immediately.

So, we can have fun here in the boonies where most don't come (go?) if we treat one another with respect, at least those that deserve it, and those that don't we can ignore instead. Make sense?? So, have at it Chuckles

Well excuse me for publicly naming the demon who affronts us all.

I will forever more pretend that the demons actions are no more threatening than a mere opinion. But if you lose your ability to overnight in your neighborhood after learning some of the techniques taught in this class, I lay odds that you too will be publicly naming the demon who affronts us all. With a few choice adjectives to help describe it's opinions.

I am thinking that after all these years of doing it, seeing it being done, watching others who want to do it, yet never actually doing it correctly, it has dawned on me that doing nothing about it ,is exactly what the rest of the unwashed public is trying to do. If you try it, you will like it and it will become an additon to your every day fabric of life. I have discussed the aspect of it with the professionals that handle the outer edges and they have assured me that nothing can eleviate the feeling of the fantastic rush that envelopes you in the relm of it.
I do find it strange that more people dont try doing it , while they wish and hope that some day they will have the courage, intellegence and gusto to at least , once in their short lives attempt to accomplish the feat.
I hope that at one time in each's lives , this is at least brought forth to the front and one could actually claim some type of association with it and granted the testimony of exotic ruptured feelings that is part of the total annexation of life.

Ok, WT, I'm trying to wrap my mind around your post here. I think I was figuring it all out until I got to that "exotic ruptured feelings" thing. Now, I have caused some ruptured feelings in my vast experience of being both snide and snarky but none have been "exotic"! Are you referring to our Canadian friends with the "exotic" adjective or did you, perhaps, inadvertently place an "x" where an "r" was intended? If that is case, none of my snidery is intended to cause "erotic ruptured feelings" either--unless, of course, the reader is really pretty weird in their need to have their feelings ruptured.
I also know about the "total annexation of life" having been trapped inside a 35ft., no frills, no slide, motorhome for a really rainy week in Parker, Arizona, with a grouchy wife and two glum, very wet dogs! I was saved by the inevitable Saturday night jam session at the clubhouse by a plethora of second rate (maybe fourth rate) collection of musicians, strumming out old smokey dive favorites that only one singer knew the words to and maybe two of the "artistes" knew the tune to while the wife and I stumble two-stepped around the floor! The dogs, of course, were still annexed into their dull week!

Get off the computer and go out and enjoy the world. Lifes to short than to look for "demons" that have different opinions than you.

People who have different opinions than I do are not "demons", they are sadly uninformed, woefully misinformed, uneducated, sloth, drooling, knuckle dragging hicks that ought to keep their mouths shut!
Just wanted to clear that up.
Oh, yeah, so how's your Sunday morning going while you are on the computer?

So was the thread "closed" or deleted? Or is that the same thing? I guess what I'm really asking for, is a link to the original thread if it is still in existence. Sounds like it could have been a good one and I'm sorry I missed it.

QUOTE: "Well excuse me for publicly naming the demon who affronts us all."

And if that statement contains truth, it still locks the thread, so if anyone here continues with that attitude about it, and continues to "name the demon' and there's more than one demon for sure, then all you get is personal satisfaction and another locked thread -- so why bother ... some of us have not entered that competition to see how many threads we can get locked.

Opinions are opinions, and each of us can request support or interpretation from anyone else that makes a statement, but the minute one insults another for that opinion, we lock out - so it makes no sense to restate what is already obvious to many and might not even be true to everyone.

That's offered as a preface, BTW, for an ongoing lesson plan that originates in the boonies of Idaho, spreads throughout rest stops across the nation ... and can be supplimented from any location by any knowledgable soul that enjoys public lands and dry camping in boondocker heaven
