Has anybody ever been to Indian boundary campground. The reserve america site says there is a limit on campers for 26 foot. Are you able to reserve with a longer camper? I have never been on this side of the smokies what are the must see areas? Are there any good trails, waterfalls to see? Thanks Mike

Indian boundary campground in Tennessee, on the Cherohala skyway is capable of taking longer campers.

Its a great campground. Is very popular and almost full when I was there. The campground hosts are helpful and know of campground reservation cancellations.

Are you taking a motorcycle?

Hello,
My family stays at this campground alot. We live about 20 miles from it. It is one of my favorites. There is a beach for swimming. Great fishing, either from the banks or piers, or even from your non-motorized boat. There are a lot of children on the trail and the campground road, on their bikes. Very much a family oriented campground.
Expect to see wildlife. Just last week we had bear, hog, and even a rattlesnake in our loop of the campground. It is reservation so you need to check before you drive that far. It has electric 30 amp in the three loops. And water at desinated areas. We fill up with usually with no more that 50 ft of water hose.
About the size on the web site of the campers, I have a 25ft fifth wheel, I've never had a problem. Some of the sites will accomadate big rigs but it doesn't say that on the website. I have seen 35ft or bigger campers all the time. For the really big campers B loop probably has the largest sites.
I hope this info helps.
Kind regards,
Jennifer

The problem with Indian boundary campground is not that the sites aren't long enough. It's getting in them. We went 4th of July and had to swap places with our friends. The site they had had was across from a parking area and gave me room to swing the front of the truck, the site we were to be in was right were the road ran over a culvert with a big drop off. Difference in a longbed extended cab with 30' fiver, and a 25'tt with a shortbed crew cab.
I like the campground. We ran the air a few hours when we first got there, then the Maxxfan was all that was needed. There was a bear sighted in the campground, and also lot of pig tracks.

Hi Mike. Indian Boundary is just off the Cherohalla Skyway, 54 miles of beautiful scenery that rivals the Blue Ridge Parkway. The nearest town is Tellico Plains which has nice restaurants and a visitor's center and museum. Don't miss the Tellico River Road that goes along the Tellico River to Bald River Falls. You can see if from the car. Continue up to the Fish Hatchery. Lots of waterfalls in the area. Take a day trip south on TN highway 68 and see Coker Creek Falls, pan for gold at Coker Creek, or continue on to US 64 and go to the Ocoee Whitewater Center. If you go to the Visitor's Center in Tellico Plains, ask for the booklet, Daytrips from Coker Creek: Backroads & Adventures in Southeast Tennessee. It cost $5 but will keep you busy for days. lizzie

Mike,
Most of their sites will be fine for your camper. We've even seen 40ft motorhomes there. When you call for reservations, you MUST tell them you have a 25ft camper or they won't give you a site. The person you will talk to is in another state and has no idea about the size of sites. We have a campground map with sites marked that we liked...and at the time we had a 29ft fifth wheel. If you have a particular site in mind, I can tell you if it's one of the ones we've marked. I know for a fact those would work. It's a beautiful campground and one of our favorite parks. Lots to do and see nearby as well. The Tellico River is about 11 miles away and has great trout fishing. The Hiwassee River is about 30 or 40 minutes away. They have excellent trout fishing as well as Whitewater Rafting if you are into that.
