had that happen to a friend at a c.g. a long time ago.they were the only ones there and someone parked 15' from them.his wife and him faked a fight with yelling and all and it went outside and when she threw a beer can at him,the rig moved to the other end of the c.g.,then they made up.
i have,a couple times in 40 years,in the same instance started the genset real quick, which i hate to do,so maybe they'll rethink their site, since all the rest are vacant.have to be careful that they aren't the type that would rather listen to the exhaust instead of enjoying nature, and say great this guys a jerk like us.
I am reminded of watching freeway traffic.. Now it's slow, I mean.. Well. I can see between 1/2 and 1 mile of freeway from the remote camera I'm using.
In the 3rd lane of the freeway is a stove, specifically a 4 burner gas range with oven, that fell off a truck (Cameras are that good
Pulling back on the zoom lets me watch approaching traffic
now it's 4 or 5 lanes (forget which) but people are comign down, usually in groups of 3 (occasionall 2 or 4 but mostly 3)
As you know the proper distance to follow the car in front of you is the distance you travel in 2 seconds, 3 seconds (or more) if you are in a motor home or other big rig.. The average in Detroit.. closer to one second and I"ve seen them where in stead of "one thousand one, one thousand two" I only get to One th... and they have passed the check point..
Also, the approaching cars, like the range, always in the 3rd lane
now why they don't spread out, or use the right lane (Required by law I might add) I don't know...
But the first car, at the very last instant, changes lanes
The next two.. Underware
Finally a group of 3 cars and one pick up
Car one: Changed lanes at the last second
Car two; Changed underware... later.. I"m sure
Car three: I'm fairly sure kissed the bumper of car 2
Pick up: Did not stop, did not slow down, did not swerve, Did place kick that stove about a quarter mile down the road and onto the shoulder for us.. Nice of him
The moral: People, like dogs, are pack animals, Most of us need to be close to others of our kind, we like having neighbors practically in reach.. That's why the cars bunch up on the freeway and why the campers crowded you.
Of course,,, there is always "The Fool On The Hill" (Song title) who sees the world going 'round. I'm not convinced said hermit does no have a good idea.

Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

My wife and I were on the road in our fifth wheel and when we were about five or six hours out from our intended overnight stop, we called ahead to confirm that there were spaces available.
Well, as we thought, there were plenty of spaces available as it was mid week and off season. In fact, there were so many spaces that they (the office) did not even bother to take our reservation.
When we arrived at the park we noted that there were about thirty spaces taken. Keep in mind that this park has 260 spaces.
Anyway, we check in and head to our assigned space. I had to laugh when I saw that our assigned space was one of about ten in the entire park that had a very large (above ground) electrical vault. I could see that there was no way that we would be able to extend our slides in the space. No problem, plenty of other spaces. So, back to the office for reassignment.
Our new site was fine, more or less isolated with easy access. Shortly after setting up, another fifth wheel pulls into the space next to us and begins to set up.
Now, I don't really care that they were next to us, but I have always wondered why they were given that spot. There was nothing special about it. I really wanted to ask the person in the office about it, but I didn't want them to think I was a PITA. Perhaps a former or current park owner or employee can enlighten me.
As it turned out the folks next to us were pretty lost when it came to set up (I think they borrowed the fifth wheel) and both my wife and I were able to assist them with several issues. I have considered that the person in the office may have figured that they may need some help setting up and reasoned that they should be parked close to assistance.
As to the OP's question, I am thinking along the lines of another poster.... the area was level.
See you out there,
Robert

Now if we would of been there I would of given them the 1-2 whammy...the Onan generator being turned on along with the wife and us rocking to the music outside...
In hind sight I should of opened my window in the morning, leaned out and knocked on his window and asked "Excuse me do you have any sugar for our coffee?"...
Oh well like I said we though it was odd...and this was not the only level site in the parking lot...heck and I thought it was because we had the best looking RV in the lot
wa8yxm...where's that stove at? I have someone I know looking for a new stove...
Well, similar to this, we pulled off the road into a nearly empty parking lot in a heavy rainstorm. Another buy pulled into the lot, parked directly across from us, windshields facing each other and kept his headlights on for the next 2 hours. It was like being under interrogation. I thought it was an odd thing to do and it pretty much ruined the view of the storm for me. (I love to watch storms)
I think he disengaged his brain once it started to rain.
