Looking at a 2nd weekend of November trip to the Lexington area and need CG recommendations. Sister lives near Atlanta and we're near Detroit and this seems to be halfway for both of us. We need electric hookup and would prefer a wooded setting. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated(:

May look at the following:

Kentucky horse Park
Horse park is water and electric only with dumpstations available.

Fort Boonesborough State Park

Fort Boonesborough now has full hook sites as well. Sites 8,9,10,12,14,16,18,20 24 & 26 have full hooks only, the rest are water and electric only.

A little farther south is Levi Jackson Wilderness Road State Park

Levi Jackson has some full hook sites as well, I cannot tell you which sites they are.

Thanks for the question. We are going to be there later this week and I had forgotten about the Natural Bridge park. After the capital and Horse park we are going to Winchester and drop south and work our way back over to Mammoth Cave region.

We hope to check it out tomorrow after we do Frankfort the capital at 8 am in the morning. We are parked in front of it tonight and got to check out the grounds this even. We got to talking with a limo driver standing out in front of the Governor's mansion that we had seen earlier at McDonald's and he offer the kids a ride around the capital complex since the party had not called to be picked up. It may have lasted 5 minutes the kids thought they were in hog heaven having never seen the inside of a limo before. We find strange things like this can happen when you show up early or late when normally there is nothing to do.
