I am wondering why when Im on city water do I have low water preasure? I have an 05 Rockwood Roo HTT. The dealer we baught it from showed us that everything worked while on the fresh water tank but the last 3 trips with full hookups there has been minimal preasure, most noticable in the shower. I use a regulator that i baught from wal-mart but ive noticed some of the spigots at the campsites we've been to have regulators on them already but the one we just came back from didn't. We also have a 50 foot hose that stays coiled up on the ground, could this be the culprit? We have the 50 footer because It was an emergency buy after one hose broke. Thanks for any help.

I don't know what the culprit is, but we just spent 6 weeks at our favorite campground and always seemed to have low water pressure. Ours seems to be mostly at the kitchen sink. We do have a pressure regulator on the water, but not where it would make it have low pressure. Sorry I can't help, but we have been through this as well.

Check the inlet screen in the fitting where you hose attaches. They often get clogged.

The longer the hose the more friction loss of pressure, make sure you have no kinks in hose. Try a shorter hose, that regulator could also be the culprit, check if you have a filter screen with******in it where you hook up hose. All these things I mention could be a problem or it could be something else. Hope I helped some.

The same thing happened to me on the last trip. My water filter had clogged up, and wouldn't you know it, there was not a store within 50 miles. My next door neighbor offered his spare, and the problem was solved. I've also replaced the old regulator with a Watts for even better showers.
I now keep a spare filter so that I can pay it forward....

Happy ROO'ing!

Try it without the regulator to see how it is. If fine, the regulator is defective.

In most cases, you will get better water flow(GPM) if you simply run off the pump and not off city water. Here's why:
Look at the long path the water must take in order to get into your shower:
1) All of the campground plumbing.
2) A 25 to 50' hose
3) A pressure regulator
4) Possibly a water filter.
5) The city water inlet/check valve
6) Your RV interior plumbing.
7) The shower head.

With all those friction losses, it's no surprise you have poor water flow. Bumping the water pressure will, generally speaking, not result in improved water flow. There is simply too much friction to overcome.

Now look at the path the water takes from your pump:
1)Your RV interior plumbing.
2) The shower head.

That's a very big difference, isn't it.

A lot of RV'ers simply fill the fresh water tank from the city water then run off the tank. Plus, that keeps the water constantly recycled in the tank so it doesn't get stale tasting.

If you do this you better hope the park pressure is not so high that it blows out your RV water lines or fittings. If it does, you'll have a real mess on your hands.

If you think your problem is a defective regulator, buy a new one. They're real cheap.

Those cheap regulators are famous for that, also check the filter screen on your water input connection.
