Heading out for a long weekend at Skidaway State Park. We have never been to the park but are looking for suggestions on site numbers. The GA park system does not allow for reserving specific sites so it is first come first serve. We are arriving on Thursday so figure I will get the site of my choice for the weekend, especially since the reservation system said there were 69 sites available.
If you have any favorite site numbers please let me know.
thank you

Sir we were in Skidaway SP about June 22nd. I don't recall our site number, but I recall about four loops that had plenty of availability. Easy to just drive around and pick one out. The swimming pool was closed when we were there.
Skidaway is heavily shaded and all of the sites are great. It will depend on how close you want to be to the restrooms, playground, etc. I stayed in site 1 last year and was able to reach the satellite on a tripod if you want DirecTV. They also have limited cable TV at the site. The loop that includes site 1 has 50 amps, the others do not I believe.

It is a good park, but to me it is laid out weird. The roads through the CG are narrow and you would think that it was one way, but it is not, because if it was one way then the hookups would be on the wrong side. Most sites are probably good, but you need to be careful. I had a pull through site that I had to back out of, because of the trees on both sides of the exit to the road.
We loved the park and will go back, but I wanted you to know of our experience.
We were there in June -- pool is closed for the season (budget!)
I think we were on site 10 -- close to bathhouse -- trees close.
There is a section with 50 amp.
Really liked the park even with the heat, mosquitoes and chiggers.
