Before everyone goes crazy, I know that prior year models were only flat towable in the AWD model. But I am shopping for a new Toad and am leaning towards the 2010 CRV. The 2009 model is reportedly flat towable in either 2WD or AWD. This is according to the Honda dealer and is what Motorhome Magazine's Dingy Towing Roundup states. Same procedure for the transmission regardless.

So like others, I'm enough of a doubting Thomas to want to find some first hand experience.

Thanks very much.

Negative... 2WD (at least 2006) are also towable flat.

The 2010's are not out yet

Should be no difference than the 2009 with very slight cosmetic changes to outside (turn signal light in outside mirrors). only 4th year for the current CR-V so there will be another 1 - 2 years of life before any major changes (depending on declining sales VS competition).

Of course Honda could change their approval for towing for the 2010 without any drive line changes due to past warranty claims. But the 2009 models are flat towable in all trim levels (2 & 4 wd)

We will probably purchase a 09 LX 2wd this week. So far have local dealers down around $ 19,300 less "clunker" trade ($4,500) plus T,T&T (16,300 out the door).

We just purchased a 2010 CRV 2WD EX-L. Flat towable, follow procedure. 2010 changes are:

a little more hp
less plastic on front and rear bumpers
USB iPOD connection in glove box (EX-L)

Blue OX base plates are the same as '09
