Our Gateway NX570s is 3 years old and its SQU-516 battery (PN 600996) needs replacing. It is 11.1V and 5200 mAh.

I searched this forum and some mentioned ebay, but I am not very familiar w/ using them.

Can anyone name other reputable sources. There are many that come up, but...

I've purchased laptop batteries from eBay vendors and from an on-line vendor. All of the batteries have performed well. I have found the eBay sources to be less costly than the on-line vendors.

atbatt.com

Have purchased batteries from them without any problems and they arrive when promised.

Ebay is an auction sales organization so your experience in purchasing from them depends on WHO you purchase from. there HAVE been a number of scams perportrated on Ebay but they do a PRETTY good job of policing their site to keep them from continuing to scam their customers. Rather than considering the WEB site on which people advertise their products, might be better to get a recommendation from a VENDOR who uses Ebay, with whom someone has had good success. I've had great success in purchase computer items from NewEgg.com myself but not through Ebay. Good luck / Skip

I have purchased laptop batteries from vendors on ebay and found them to be less expensive and very good batteries. I will buy my next lap top battery from and ebay source. Likewise if you need portable drill batteries, ebay is an excellent source for these also.

I have purchased a battery from WalMart. Go online and order it, it will be shipped to a WalMart near you.

atbatt.com looks good - alas, mine is out of stock.

My thing w/ ebay is I do not know how to use them or have experience w/ paypal. Also, their screens are very confusing to me.

I just purchased some batteries from BudgetBatteries.com(I think thats it)....they have an extensive inventory and my dealings with them went fairly well. There inexpensive and guarantee their products. Good Luck

Thanks for the inputs folks. I am a little leary of some of these websites...

battpit.com and battdepot.com both seem to have the correct voltage and gateway battery, but curiously, both are in a suite in Bellingham, WA w/ different phone numbers???

On edit: I mistakenly said laptopbatteryexpress.com for battpi.com in above text

ebats.com and atbatt.com really seem good, but their batteries that are supposed to work for my NX570S are not 11.1V but 14.8. I wrote an e-mail to atbatts.

Walmart has no Gateways.

Can one speak to a salesperson at ebay by phone? Do they have a special site just for new laptop batteries?
