Don't know if anyone else has this problem,,I have a 2010 Windjammer by Rockwood with 30 AMP service, A/C. has 20 Amp breaker and Microwave has 15 AMP breaker. When I try to run both at the same time of course it trips the main breaker. You would think that someone in designing the trailer would have thought 15+20= 35. this will not work..
If anyone has a idea how to fix the problem I would appreciate any help I could get... Turning the A/c off to cook is not the answer.
Thanks for your help..

Are you running anything else, like coffee pots, toaster, ect. The only time they main should pop is when both the compressor and the microwave cycle at the same time. If nothing else works, just raise the temp on the A/c for a few mins while you microwave. Good Luck

In my Rockwood I have no problems running both at the same time at least for a short time. We don't use the microwave for roasting turkey or anything that takes a while.

You have answered your own question: Turning the A/C off IS the answer! The only other alternative is to upgrade your electrical panel as well as the cable and go to sites with a 50 amp service!

Agree with mhawk4 about the possibility of the AC, Microwave and water heater being the reason for the circuit overload. I can run the AC and Microwave together without any problem as long as I flip the circuit breaker for the water heater to off.

If there is a lot of demand from other RV's in the area, you might not be gettin full amps (?) A fellow RV'er showed me an AC voltage meter that plugs into a socket. She checkes it before turning on any second item that draws a lot of electricity. It can be bought at Camping World. She says that this helps to kept her breaker from tripping.

have the same sort of problems-popping the breaker and it's usually the ele water heater that puts the draw over the edge, and one of the things easiest to forget about. know i did, took me a long time to get it figured out-just was one of those thing that didn't register till i sat down and gave it some thought as to why the breaker popped. now i'll just turn the ele switch off and the gas one on.

Summer = Water Heater on Propane Only.

If I try the water heater on electric in the summer my kids will fire up the hair dryer after taking a shower while trying to watch TV waiting on the popcorn snack to finish popping. All of that and they will bump the AC down since it's hot.... Heck -- they could make a 50 amp breaker trip.

IMO depends on A/C size, and microwave power. Our microwave is a bit over 1k watts, and A/C is 15k btu. Can't run both on our 30 amp rig even with electric water heater off.

Simple solution is to buy a 50 amp rig, or turn A/C to fan only while using microwave. We choose the later.
