Got a Class C this Spring, and we're getting ready to go to Assateague Island our favorite place on earth. They don't have water on any sites, and we know if we fill up our water holding tank we will prob run out during our week stay.
Are there places (like propane filling places) that you can pay to refill water? Or even better get it for free?
It'd be great if anyone else has run into this while staying at AI and has a remedy.
Thanks!
Melanie

We spent a couple of weeks at Assateague Island NP. There was water available at the restroom buildings. We filled our 3 gallon jugs and pour into tank.
If you park close enough or have enough hose, you can connect and fill.
If you want to fill up at a filling station, go to the State park either after hours( prob after 5pm) or when you get to the gate house tell them you are checking in. In the parking lot there is a potable water connection. When we stay there we fill up with 5 gallon jugs one or two of them everyday.
So what goes in must come out. Does the National Park have a dump station?
BTW Assateague is my favorite. We camp there every year for 4 weeks from June to July.
Assateague has water available near the dump stations to fill up your tanks or you can fill jugs near the showers and carry it to the camper. If you decide to fill jugs some sort of cart or wagon would be handy.

Thanks everyone! I feel much better bout going now, we don't have jugs on board so I'll make sure to pack them!
Can't wait to get there and see the ocean and wild ponies, ahh the best part!
Yeah we are familiar with all things associated with ponies, one year my mother in law was in a tent and woke up to a horse in the screened porch area. We upgraded to an RV so we won't have to deal with that this year! Ahh don't miss tent camping!
We'll be headed that way too in a few weeks and the last time we were there they had water near the dump station as was mention earlier. I have also just bought three Thermacell's in preparation for the mosquito's and flies that I'm sure will be there. If they work as advertise and like many people have said I expect we'll have a great time.

Just googled Thermacell, I think we need to get one before next week. Thanks for the tip! It will help keep our foster kids (ages 1 & 3) from getting bit!
