Google: Weekend Warrior Settlement Documents.

You'll find the court documents with drawings for the prophylactic fix for all the models affected.

I'd post the link, but I think that's against forum rules since this was litigated.

Check the vin tag on the front left corner it will tell you when it was built, if it is an 07 where i'm at 17-19K would be a fair price.
I have owned two and neither one ever went back in for any service.
knock on fiber board.

WW years were always like 2 ahead so an 07 came out in 2005.

This is not always true, I ordered mine in Jun 06, it was made on Sept o6 and I picked it up at the factory Oct 06.

Just check the sticker inside the kit sink cabinet. Should have the date it was made.

Thanks all for the replys. When I take the wife to go see it besides normal PDI stuff I will:

Check extra good for leaks inside and out, including roof sealant.
Check age and condition of tires.
See if hitch has been reinforced....still not %100 sure this unit needed it.
Check weights on scale.
Check all plumbing and electric on all 3 DC, Shore, and Gen.
Talk about dealer warranty or service contract...what can I expect with this as far as what is covered and price?
Possibly get VIN for Car Fax.
Check for build date.

Should I talk to them first about things like new tires, re-caulking roof, and possibly upgrading my hitch or work the price down then bring up this stuff?

I really appreciate all the feed back. Any more responses/opinions are definalely welcome.

The warrenty I would get. Just make sure you are clear on exactly what it covers for what your paying for.

I would go for broke on the cost, tires, etc. at one time. Just discuss all of the items in an informed manner with the sales rep. Tell them about your concerns about it sitting for so long and let them know you have done some research on the trailer. Pretty sure they will cooperate with you.

With their location and the fact that they bought it from a dealer going out of business, I would suspect they bought it when Best Buy RVs went out of business in Richmond, IN.

Tom Raper had some WW's too and still has a couple listed.

If you haven't already, get an Indiana Auto and RV and check with some of the other dealers. With 30+ dealers in the Dayton / Cinci / Richmond area, they should deal. Not to mention all the ones in ELkhart.

I concur, the "new" 07 I just bought has a build date of 4/06.

Having just bought an 07 that has been sitting on the lot for all those years I too was worried about the condition it would be in when I drove 20 hours (one-way) to go buy it. Water leaks were a big concern as well as other items. However, when I got there I found a TH that truly looked 99% as good as any current models on the lot. Other than some apparent rust around the screws and pins on the removable ladder it looked new on the outside. It still had all the factory plastic on the carpet areas and various other surfaces on the inside and once removed it was still perfect and new.

I am not so sure that all brands would weather this well, I know for sure some "new" 07s and 08s of other brands I looked at really looked like they had been sitting on the lot for much longer than 2-3 years.

Concerning price, you should be at 50% of retail or less period. You are buying a 3 year old model, AND the company is out of business so no "real" warranty. On the other hand I have already gotten better support from Warrior Lifestyles than any other manufacturer I have dealt with, even when the unit had a warranty. I haven't had any real issues, but their service for additional parts/items I wanted plus some upgrades I wanted to do has been above and beyond.

Most real warranty issues with any RV typically stems from the components used and those warranties are still in effect if you fill out the warranty cards (frig, Water heater, etc). The only problem I had was a crack in the shower surround and the dealer told me about it ahead of time during their PDI. They gave me money off for this because I told them I didn't want them to replace it because I only trust myself to do work on my RVs. Ironically I called Lyons Industries, the manufacturer of the shower surround told them about the crank and they are sending me a free warranty replacement AND I got to chose from the new "marble" colored modern looking showers.

All in all I was certainly nervous buying a 3 year old "new" WW, but I have been all over, under, thru, and out the other side of this unit and it is solid and "new" as it should be.

Hope that helps,
