Dr Quick wrote: An interesting thought. My truck manual says that the wheel bearings need to be repacked every 60,000 miles or I would say 5 to 6 years.
But the trailer people say to repack trailer bearings every year or maybe 5,000 to 10,000 miles that you might drive in a year or less. I wonder why trailer bearings need so much maintenance? Or is it the trailer places need the money?
Could it be the quality of the components they are using??

I don't think they are ripping you off. It appears they are charging you retail on parts and a reasonable amount on the labor. Other posters are not adding up all the parts/services you mentioned. Brake assemblies, seals, MAGNETS, turning the rotors, packing the bearings, shop supplies, installation and adjustments. Sure, I would do this job myself and save quite a bit, but you are getting a fair amount of work for a fair price.
