So who has the inside scoop? When is walmart doing to pull the plug? Does anyone know or is this just another patent wringing of the patanoid palms?

Sadly it's getting ridiculously stupid.

I'm not sure what you find any different at THAT walmart as any other. It NORMAL behavior for folks who "only pulled in to catch a few hours sleep" (around 11:00 AM) to "set up camp there". Can't expect them to just hang around the "campground" all day can you?

I rolled into the Walmart in Cody, WY on Fri., 8/14 at noon and was dissappointed in what I observed.
There were 10 units parked with 5 units were missing there tow vehicles.
Basically people dropped there trailers and took off to run around. Also people had sliders out with awnings extended, the only thing missing was the camp fire. I hope Walmart realizes that there are a few bad apples out there but overall RV'ers are responsible and don't take the opportunity away.

We were in Cody at the Ponderosa Campground late in July. The Walmart had at least 4 5er's there all week without tow vehicles.

we unhook all the time in the wally world and mall parking lots...never put anything out tho...

we always get hooked back up for night time tho... just in case we need to move out... we were in a lot in fargo nd that started setting up a midway at about 2:30 AM for the next day... they knocked on the door and sent us on our way...

I've unhooked at Walmart twice. First time was to get an oil change on the Ram. The fifth wheel didn't fit in the oil change lanes... Second time was because the diesel pumps didn't have enough turning space for the fifth wheel...

Don't know if all of the five parked RV's had good excuses or not, but try to keep an open mind as to why someone might need to drop the trailer.

Hey, didn't y'all hear, WM is selling "deeded" space, cheap. Better buy now or get left out.

From what I have seen on this site I believe it is up to the store manager to set the rules. If the manager had a problem in what was going on, he would have changed the situation. Apparently the manager is OK with his "campers". So what is the problem? If you want to make the rules get a job at Walmart and work you way up to store manager and then you can make the rules.

We were in Cody about 3 weeks ago. We spent the night at the very nice Wal-Mart parking lot with a great view of the mountains. Also spent $60 getting supplies there. It was full with other overnighters. Not sure if they had there slides out or not, didn't smell any campfires. It is the nicest Camp Wal-mart we have stayed. Some left there units & left in their tows, I am sure. Did not seem slummy in the least. No mess being left behind. We did not unhook our TT. I was very thankful for the place to stay. Thank you very much Cody Wal-mart.

The employees, we observed, seemed very typical Wyoming folks, not homeless folks in the least, nor in need of a parking lot homestead.
Happy to have a job I am sure.
