That seems to be my problem. Camper takes forever to cool off at night. I tried a portable fan which didn't do much. Most of the time I'm boondocking so no AC.
My camper is pre wired for a Fantastic Fan. Are they really fantastic?
Thanks........DJ

Yes they are fantastic.
A breeze and cross ventilation is even better however.
The Honda generators won't help at all if like me you have no AC.

A fantastic fan is like an attic fan. You can create a breeze.
When we are up in bed we only open the windows up there and that pulls the air across you. The trick to to not open too many windows or it doesn't pull the outside air into the camper. At least I can't tell.
It can make a miserable night actually a very pleasant one.

My motorhome is about the size of a camper. We have the Fantastic Fan and use it to cool off the sleeping area. The key is to limit the amount of open windows to only those that are near the sleeping area. A Fantastic Fan will pull in air but does not have sufficient power to really create a breeze throughout the RV. Another advantage of the Fan is that it does not draw much power so you can easily leave it on all night. In an experiment, I turned on the Fan at full speed and left it on until it depleted my single 12-volt battery - took about 24 hours. We usually use at lowest setting and get an adequate breeze.

I would recommend the maxxaire type fan instead of the fantastic. Fan mechanism is outside so noise is removed, also aims down so fan can run and vent can be left open in the rain. If you get a fantastic, it will be worthless in the rain/humidity, unless you put a maxxaire cover over it, in which case you might as well install the maxxaire to begin with. Fantastic gives good customer service but much of the free repairs/replacements involve the rain sensor, automatic opening mechanism, etc. all junk you don't need with the maxxaire.

I have the Fantastic fan and use it all the time. Also have the cover over it so it can be used in the rain. No rain sensor on mine just a plain jane.

Add my vote for Fantastic Fan. Sometimes I also run a small portable box fan with an inverter.

Get one DJ. The Maxxair could be better, but I don't want any more large items on my roof (height reasons) so I am not going to add a big cover on there or convert to a Maxxair. I've used the FF with a light rain, the vent open just enough to allow it to work OK and no problems.
Jim's right, by closing the other windows, and opening the ones next to the bed, you can get a great airflow. We camped outside the Lance place in June, and it was bruatlly hot in the daytime.....we parked there late in the evening, and I was sure we needed to turn on the AC (and we had electric hookup) but my wife didn't want the noise. I agreed, but told her if I couldn't sleep I'd get up and turn it on. It turned out the FF on high, brought a nice breeze in through the bedroom window and kept me comfortable.
They also help a lot with condensation in the winter - though I've yet to really use it for that.

I'll second the fantastic-ness of our Fantastic Fan; however, the temperature outside must be cooler that inside for there to be any effect (stating the obvious...). Most of the places we camp satisfy that requirement in the evening, so we opted not to get AC. It's worked for us.
