We're on our way home and stopped in Columbia, SC for a couple of nights. DW saw a sign advertising new carpet installation for RVs. Our's could use replacing.

Gentleman is coming tomorrow to give us a price. Will replace carpet and pad in front section of motorhome including driver area and dog house. This also includes the slide out.

Company has been doing carpet installation for area RV shops for the last 10 years or so.

Has anyone had this done? What is a reasonable price? I know price doesn't matter if DW wants it done, but I want to make sure the price is not too far off.

Thanks

We have not replaced carpet in a MoHo, but have in our home. Like all things, it depends on the carpet. Luckily our carpet looks good, but when it goes I want to swap to all tile. It seems I am always cleaning some little spot off of the carpet. Keep us posted on how this works out

Just had a quote of $2000 for the front for carpet.. We want some kind of non-carpet, we are looking at $3,200 to $4,200 for Armstrong locking tile in the front and bathroom and carpet in the bedroom.. Most of the cost is for labor, taking things out and putting it back, redoing the front steps, removing the booth, front center console/cabinet, toilet, etc. I think you can see from this what I mean?? But it is cheaper than trading coaches and we know what we have..Hope this helps?? Good luck and happy travels..

Thanks mscamping.

We got a quote for $1095 to redo the front.

We made an appointment for Monday morning so we will be staying here for a few more days. He said that he could finish it on Monday so we won't have to find a place to stay we'll just go site seeing for the day.

That sounds like a decent price. If you are happy with the work, let us know their name. Actually, if you are unhappy let us know also.

I was thinking about replacing my carpet in my '99 Class a but someone on this forum showed how he dyed his existing carpet. I did it too. Mine was light blue and faded. I used RIT clothes dye ,Royal Blue, mixed it at about 5 envelopes per gallon of hot water. Put it in a spray bottle , sprayed the carpet wet and brushed it in with a stiff brush. Mask off other materials but it will wipe right off hard stuff . Can't say it looks new BUT!! it looks 10 times better than it did. There wwere photos on this forum from the guy I learned it from.

We dropped the mh off about 8 am Monday. He was finished with it about 4:30 pm.

Looks great. The engine cover looks better than it did from the factory. He took the left over carpet and made pieces for the steps and 3 or 4 throw rugs.

You can take a look at his web site rvflooring

I watched the video...twice. I can imagine what new carpet has done for your mh! Congratulations!
We've had our mh for a week, and the carpet is a mess. If I can get my steamer working, I'm going to see how well it will clean up.
