I thought I would post some pictures of a bedsaver that I made, I found this a little less of a footprint when installed, then the factory ones. First time posting pictures, hopefully this works

That is a very good job. I like the smaller footprint. There could be a market for that...

Thanks, but as far as the market goes, I would have to get a lot faster than I did with this one, but then again I sort of played around with it changing a couple of things. I have that luxury in the work I do, plus the equipment to do these kind of things. I have a stabilizer project in the works, we will see how that goes.

Looks very nice. I just wonder tho....Can't tell from the angle of the photos...if the pin drops into your receiver, do you still have clearance between the 5'r and your truck bed rails? From the angle of the pics, it almost looks like it sits on the mount rails of the hitch. And will it keep the back of the kingpin box away from crashing into the tail gate? Since you have a slider hitch I assume you have a shortbed, hence the tailgate question.

Based on the work you do, I bet you have all that figured out already. But I thought I would ask anyway. Please do not be offended. You did a great job.

The only problem with it is I have to have the pin about an inch or so higher than the hitch to clear the bedsaver, then I lower it back down , and finish backing in. The same in reverse when unhitching Everything clears okay even in the maneuver position. I also made sure it caught the pin, leaving the front legs down ,but high enough to allow the pin to drop ,but if is missed not getting the bedrails. I thought if I was going to take time to make one I should make sure it works. There is not much of a drop at all ,still plenty of clearance with the bedrails. If I make another I will allow it to drop a little more so that you can back straight in to the hitch without having to raise it higher to clear the bedsaver, but for me it is not that big of deal. I hope that answered your question, no offense taken. Pictures sometimes do not tell the whole story.

I would like to ask a question about the MorRyde pin boxes, from the pictures you can see the scratches in the top of my fifth wheel hitch. When I unhook I raise the fifth wheel until I start to see the hitch start to separate from the pin box, pull the latch and pull out, but when I do the head pivots a bit and the outside edges of the pin box scrape along the top of the hitch scraping it. I have started pulling the latch and raising it a little higher before pulling out ,which stops the scraping. Has anyone else experienced this with the MorRyde pin box. My other fifth wheels with a conventional pin never had that problem, and I unhooked the same way with them. Thanks

Would going to a larger lube plate stop it from scratching it up?
