I have a "Power Gear" jack system on my 2005 National Sea Breeze LX. As on all auto systems, when I retract my jacks, you have to wait to shut the system off for the "Jacks Down" light to go out. I have been experiencing the "Jacks Down" light does not go out even though the jacks are up and fully retracted. When I push the park break button and place in drive I get alarms going off and the lights all flashing. I drive off with the blinking lights and alarm going; the alarm eventually shuts down, but the lights continue blinking. They eventually shut off and I can then shut down the jack system. However, a little while later, you guessed it, the same things occurs all over again. This goes on the entire drive, but not with any regular pattern. Any ideas??
Wilpower has ir right. I had the same problem with my Power Gear system and fixed it like he said. Always carry some extra hydraulic fluid. Look at the cannister and it will tell you which type of fluid you need. Don't ut in jst any old hydraulic fluid. The wrong fluid could deteriorate the seals.
My power gear jacks use Dexron III, and yes the alarm is set off because when the jacks are retracted, all the fluid is supposed to return to the resevoir and there is a float switch that floats up and turns the "Jacks Down" alarm OFF. The problem is if the resevoir is a little low, it will not raise the float and the alarm will sound. So retract the jacks, Remove the fill plug on the resevoir, and I find it easier to use a New Plews Flex spout pump oil can filled with dexron III and I use that to pump in enough oil to raise the float. Install the fill plug and operate/cycle the jacks down and up a few times and see if the alarm goes off the last time. If the jacks are all the way up and the alarm is still sounding, you might have to add a little more fluid. I think you will find this will fix your problem.

The fluid level is ok; the alarm does go off and stays off once underway; most of the time. Any other idea's?

I am curious, how did you determine that the fluid level is OK?
Even though you say the fluid level is OK, did you add some fluid anyway? I have found that just a few squirts will solve the problem. Mine does not have a dip stick, but I made a dip stick that I can use, but I find that the squirt can with dexron III in it, and a few squirts, does the trick, it shuts the alarm off without overfilling the resevoir. That has worked for me and you have asked for ideas, so give it a try, what have you got to lose? The position of the fill plug is such that I don't think you can really overfill without fluid running out of the fill opening. The reason I use a squirt can is it is almost imposible to pour fluid out of a quart container and hit the fill hole without spilling it all over the place. Good luck
On my 05 Dolphin the fill plug is in a position that a s squirt gun is about the only way to put fluid in it and it has to be all the way up to the treads on the plug hole.
I will try the suggestions. I have been out of "range" for internet for the past few weeks. Moving east and now have internet. Thanks for the ideas. I will let you know how it turns out.
you may have to realign the float. if it got twisted out of position, it will not shut off.
remove the float, mark the position of the pivot on the float. reistall the float with the pivoted part pointing directly down. this assures free movement and lets the sensor to shut off the alarm.
