I bought a pair of Rain X Lats as a result of this thread. After two weeks, I'm very pleased. Heavy rain, medium rain, light rain, and nearly dry, these blades have been great so far.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm on my 2nd set of "Lats" from Rain-X. The first set I had for nearly 2 years. My only gripe w/ them was the little plastic clips on the ends were easily broken. My solution was to use a small black zip tie to prevent the insert from sliding off the frame. Zip tie was nearly invisible on the black frame.

Best blades I've ever used:

http://piaa.com/WiperBlades/WiperBlades.html

Don't know what they're doing, but I hope they keep doing it cause these babies really wipe. No streaks, no skipping, nothing. They're expensive, but when they're on sale, grab a pair. You'll be very happy.

Cheers,
Kevin

OK, you have sold me. Where do you get them and what is a fair price? I will need a set for a 2007 F250 and a 2006 Toyota 4 Runner. Both of these vehicles have the original wiper blades on them now. Then we will wait until next summer to see if they hold up in the Texas heat.

If I recall, you can get them at Walmart for around $20. I had seen them before, but thought they were just another blade using the RainX brand. After I tried a pair, I was sold.

I get easily 1 year, and normally much more. Occasionally one gets ripped from ice issues etc. I just changed the passenger side on my P/U (2006). Toyota (2004) been replaced once. I don't drive with blades that don't wipe the windshield clean.

I wipe the blades each time I clean my windows, remove all that black crud. Few times a year I clean them with alcohol and apply Rain-x or some other type of protection like Sun-of-Gun, this reduces chatter when the wiper get hard and brittle.

I tried the Rain X Lat blades for the first time about 2 years ago. I had heard good things about them prior to that but I always assumed they were just relabeled for Rain X and nothing special. My wagon is especially hard on blades and they don't seem to last long. I found some Michelin branded beam blades a few years ago that worked well but I could not find more to replace them with. I then bought another brand beam blade and returned them because they worked so poorly, I don't recall the brand. It was what Meijer carried before they started to carry Rain-X blades. I then bought the Rain-X Lat blades and they are great. They last about a year on my wagon. I put a pair on my MIL's Suburban and she loved them as well. I haven't tried them on my Grand Prix yet because it seems to work fine with just the OEM frames with Anco refills. I'll buy another set before this winter. I may take a previous posters recommendation and just replace the drivers side. They are still working pretty good after a year, just not perfect like I prefer. No chatter (which is the wagons biggest issue normally) but they streak slightly at times.
