We recently purchased a used 2005 Gulfstream AmeriLite 24RS with the rear queen bed hard slide out. The dealer was just an auto dealer who took the trailer in on trade, but he said when he talked to the camper/trailer supply store in town, they said they recommend using tripod supports under these bed hard slides.
I can't seem to find anything online, although I did see a picture of as similar trailer with some kind of legs up by the trailer, as opposed to the end of the slide out.
Does anyone have any knowledge? We haven't used it yet, and we're still making a few modifications, but if we need some kind of support, where could I find more info? I'm thinking I may need to call Gulf Stream and see what they say.
Thanks!

I have seen them in campgrounds, and have never seen any of them supported. I would think that they would be engineered to support a substantial amount of weight on their own so unless you are huge, I would not worry about it, but then, I have never even been in one, just seen them.

I suppose there are exceptions to every RVing rule but the consensus seems to be no supports under slides. If the RV moves, especially down, and the slide does not move with it, there could be damage done to the guides.

We don't have a rear slide out, but our bed is on a slideout to the side and our manual said not to put additional support under the slides for the same reason mentioned by Dick B. above.

I was told by the dealer and others to NEVER put a support under the slides. If you had a flat, or the stabilizer support shifted, the trailer would go down and the slide would not.

We have a rear slide in our TT, (see our sig) and have never put any kind of support under it. Never needed to. Bed will support up to 1,000 lbs. Plus as others have stated, if the trailer should slip for whatever reason, your bound to have some trouble with the slide being supported. Hope this helps.

I would suggest that you contact the Manufacture and see if they can provide a owners manual for you. That would answer many questions for you.

Thank you all for verifying what I assumed to be true--that no supports were necessary.
I am going to contact the manufacturer as well because it didn't come with any owners manuals, etc.

I have a Forest River Shamrock 21RS and it doesn't require slide supports. However, I have seen some Outback models that do come with supports.

Here is a link to a Brochure for your trailer that shows no supports.
