We just bought a 2000 Saturn LW2. The manual says to just turn the key to "ACC" position, then turn off fog lamps and all accessories, and shift into neutral. Do I need to pull any fuses? Does the beeping eventually stop after turning the key to "ACC"? Is there anything I need to know? This is our first time to tow.

Have you looked closely at your owners manual ?
I would think that it would be addressed in the manual.

I really can't help you with the specifics on this vehicle, but I am sure that some one will chime in and give you some assistance.

Good luck, Larry

A short time after posting this question I realized I had been playing with this with the door open. I get the "DUHH" award today.

To set your "SATURN" for towing is generally as follows....
attach your towbar (brand and type at this point is not relevant)
BACK THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM MOTORHOME to lock the towbar...pulling forward with the m/h will cause 1 arm (side to lock) at the minimum but with 1 arm unlocked, the car can come forward (if you stop or turn the motorhome) and the weight of said vehicle can come forward and possibly bend the "locked arm"....so ALWAYS BACK THE CAR TO ENGAGE THE LOCKS....
on the "saturn" your manual will tell you which fuse to pull, but you are correct....turn all accessories off (radio, a/c, nav system, wipers, etc) to the off position...key in accessory since the wheel needs to be free....emergency brake off....transmission in neutral, windows rolled up (keeps car clean) and drivers door unlocked.....

UNLOCKED YOU ASK??? yes unlocked, everyone knows you are towing with the keys in the ignition, car cannot be stollen while being towed, but..... what about if you go eat or take a break???....car can be taken....so when you go anywhere other than inside your RV....remove the keys and lock the door.....
what do you do with the keys?????
did you say put them in your pocket??????
I HOPE NOT !!!!!
you see in order to remove the key, you have to put the car in park...then you locked it right?...then put the key in your pocket you said??? WELL...now we are done eating, we are fat/dumb/and happy when we leave the restaurant or maybe its late or raining or we are distracted...in any case we get in the motorhome and pull away.....BEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEEEEP...WARNING !!!! you are about to drive off with the car in park and with the wheel locked......DONT DO THAT !!!
place the key either in the doorway of the motorhome or in the ignition of the motorhome, it may not fit all the way or fit well but it will keep you from starting the motorhome without getting the car "ready again"

hope this helps everyone.... for those of you who have had your vehicles set up by me....already know from reading this, who i am....
good luck, and happy, trouble free towing.

Yep! But they don't know the key hasn't had the chip in it programed yet.

After they look at all the 7 locks on the tow bars, steel cables, light cables, air cables, and emergence stop cable to take off.

Don't you think maybe they will look around for a easier car to steal.

My tow bar is locked at both ends until I am ready to unhook. Key in or out, still hard to steal.
