We made a 6000 mile 17 day vacation back in 82. Mount Rushmore,Deadwood,Badlands,Devils Tower,Little Bighorn,Grand Tetons,Yellowstone,Glacier.Fort McCloud in Canada, Dinasour National Monument,Rocky Mountain NP,and Colorado Springs. I see on my trip log that the most we paid for gas was 1.42 in Glacier and the lowest was 1.12 in Helena MT. Those were the days. We pulled our Lark popup with a Chevy Blazer that got 10 mpg. We took our three kids an my brothers two kids ages 3 to 11. We had alredy been to YS so we only spent 2 days there on our way to Glacier. You are going to have the time of your life. There won't be much of a crowd going now.

Have a wonderful trip! Those places are great. I think it is terrific that you are taking your wife's grandma. Those will be special memories. And, I think it is great you are taking a lot of days to do the trip.
Be sure to let us know how it goes.
Happy Camping!

the DW is from Concrete and Sedro-Wooley. that's where G-Ma lives. we have 5 acres on Camano Island that we hope to retire to, in a couple of years.

Most excellent. I haven't been to those areas in years, particularly Camano Island. Very very nice.

we are staying in NP campgrounds. want my first experience at these parks to be in the parks, not outside the parks.

If the Beartooth Pass is open, make sure you take a day to travel it. Not with your HTT, just your vehicle. Worth the trip. I've done it twice, and we are planning on doing it again next year.

Are you going to be camping dry? Or are there a few now that offer electric to "non-hard sided campers"?
Bikendan, when you take G-Maw to the first NP,park in the visitors lot and Walk in and Buy her a (Senior Pass)10$. It is good for life, covers up to (4) people per car. Going to that many N/P will save you a lot of money! Youroo!!

we'll be dry camping since none of the 3 have any campsites with hookups, except one in Yellowstone. that's Fishing Bridge, which doesn't allow soft-sided campers. Colter Bay has a RV psrk with hookups but not sure if it's part of Grand Teton NP.
we have a Honda 2000 and 2 deep-cycle batteries.
